PRODUCTION OF ELECTRIC VEHICLES IN SPAIN

1. SPANISH BRANDS :
1.1 PSA ( Vigo ) :   
Location: Pontevedra       
Cars: Berlingo Electric (currently) / Electric Partner ( 2020) / Peugeot-2008 (2020).       
1.2 Mercedes Benz ( Vitoría )   
Location: Álava       
Cars: Avoided (now) / Monovolumen electric EQV ( 2020)       
the production of the new EQV electric minivan, presented at the recent Frankfurt
Motor Show, will also begin at the factory.       
1.3 PSA ( Figueruelas ):   
Location: Zaragoza       
Cars: Corsa electric (Nov. 2019)       
The French manufacturer will produce electric models in its three Spanish
factories. In Figueruelas , the new Corsa and its electric variant will involve an
investment of 250 million euros. Vigo, however, is its great strategic point: there the
electric versions of the Citroën Berlingo and Peugeot Partner are produced , and
batteries will be assembled for the entire Peninsula.        
1.4 SEAT (Martorell)   
Location: Barcelona       
Cars: León PHEV (2020) / Cupra León PHEV (2020) / Cupra Formentor (2021)       
Mart Seat Martorell       
The new generation of the Seat León, which will arrive next year, will have a plug-in
version, just like the new Cupra León. A year later, in 2021, production of the plug-
in hybrid Cupra Formentor will begin .       
1.5 NISSAN:   
Location: Barcelona       
Cars: e-NV200 (currently)       
The Zona Franca plant has been producing the e-NV200 electric van since 2014,
whose manufacturing has increased this year by 126%, with 79 a day. In addition, it
has its own battery mounting facility.       
1.6 FORD (Almussafes)   
Location: Barcelona       
Cars: Mondeo hybrid (currently) in saloon and family body. / New Kuga (2020) with
PHEV, mHEV and conventional hybrid versions . He will assemble his
own batteries in the factory .       
The North American multinational already manufactures the hybrid Ford Mondeo in
saloon and family bodywork at its plant in Valencia. In 2020 the new Kuga will
arrive , with versions PHEV (plug-in hybrid), mHEV (with light hybridization) and
conventional hybrid. Its director, Dionisio Campos, has confirmed that the batteries
will be assembled in the factory itself.       
1.7 PSA (Madrid):

1.9 RENAULT (Valladolid):

The manufacture of plug-in electric and hybrid vehicles in Spain will exceed 500,000 units per year
in 2025, more than 17% of the total, according to a calculation by the IHS Markit consultancy for
Transport & Environment , with a total increase in vehicles produced of 5%, which would result in
23,000 new jobs. Our country will be the third country in Europe with the highest production of
battery cars, after Germany and France; although it is currently the second in the continent in total
manufacturing volume . In six years, 10% of the cars will be 100% electric, while almost 7% will
have a plug-in motorization. The rest, 83%, will still be combustion.

2. EUROPEAN BRANDS :
2.1 RENAULT NISSAN-AVTOVAZ:   
Renault will invest 1,000 million euros to build in France a "Center of Excellence" for its
electric vehicles and, for the moment, only in the French country it already has six
factories dedicated to electrification. In Maubeuge , near the Belgian border, the 100%
electric Kangoo ZE is produced and the group will invest in the new generation of the
vehicle, which will be produced at the plant.
Outside of France, the Alliance has three more plants, two in Spain, in Valladolid to
produce the Twizy and in Barcelona to do the same with the Nissan e-NV200, and one
in the United Kingdom, in Sunderland . In English territory, Nissan manufactures the
almighty Leaf and creates the batteries for electric vehicles of the Japanese firm.
2.2 . VOLKSWAGEN GROUP :   
The country with the most hybrid and electric factories is Germany, with a total of
nine. In Zwickau, in the west of the country, more than 1 billion euros will be invested so
that the factory will become the production center for the MEB platform for electric
vehicles from Volkswagen, Seat and Audi from 2020.
Outside of Germany, the Volkswagen Group accumulates five more factories for
electrified vehicles. The first in Spain, the Seat plant in Martorell, which will produce the
PHEV variant of the Leon for the next decade, one in Hungary, in Gyor , where the
electric motors that the e- tron will mount are manufactured, and another in Slovakia, in
Bratislava, where Volkswagen produces the e-Up and Audi the Q7 e- tron qattro . The
other two are in Brussels, where the Audi e- tron SUV will be manufactured from this
year and the e- tron Sportback from 2019, and in Malda Boleslav, in the Czech
Republic, where an electric from Skoda will be produced .
 
 
2.3 BMW :   
Other of the brands strong bet for electrification has five plants across Europe for the
production of electrified vehicles, four in Germany and one in the UK
2.4 DAIMLER:   
Daimler in Europe manufactures electrified cars or components for them at six plants,
five in Germany and one in France.
2.5 FORD:   
Ford has three factories in Europe dedicated to the production of electrified cars. In
Valencia it produces the Mondeo Hyibrid , in Kocaeli, Turkey , the
Ford Transit Custom PHEV and in Saarlouis , Germany, the C-Max PHEV and the
electric Focus.
2.6 TOYOTA:   
Toyota owns two factories, one in France and one in the United Kingdom, dedicated to
the production of two hybrid models, the Yaris in Valenciennes and the Auris in the
English city of Burnaston .
2.7 LONDON TAXI AND STREETSCOOTER :   
StreetScooter , producer of electric commercial vehicles, has become the leading seller
of electric vehicles in Germany, beating out BMW, for example, or Daimler. It is in the
city of Aachen , in the German country, where they manufacture
the StreetScooter Work , the Work L and the Work XL.
 
On the other hand, the London Electric Vehicle Company manufactures in Coventry, United
Kingdom, the units of the TX Hybrid Taxi, a hybrid car inspired by London's classic black
taxis, which transport thousands of people every day in the British country.
 
3. INTERNATIONAL BRANDS
3.1 BYD ( Build your dreams ): The company became the third largest manufacturer of
plug-in electric vehicles, and in the same year began production of pure electric
vehicles for use in Beijing.   
3.2 NISSAN: The original Nissan Leaf has been the world's best-selling electric vehicle until
recently, with sales hitting a record high of 87,000 units in 2018.
