Week 4 - New Features

Here are some new features you will notice in the weekly assignments!
I moved the
pritables link to I added audio! The
the top of the kids can click the
first page. speaker and hear me
tell them what the
assignments are for
ZOOM – I now have 3 that day!
open zoom sessions
each week so your
family can choose
which one (or more)
work for you.
Reading Warm up
variety. Each day is a
different site instead of
the same one every
Reading Choices
single day
Your kiddo can do
“Readworks” or an
activity I designed in
Google Classroom.
Just to jazz things up a
bit for those who need
it!

The “Choice Board” also has an

audio so your kids can hear me talk
about the activities. All the
activities can be submitted by
clicking the compass and
answering the question!

It is 100% OK if your child does not

have time for choice board
things…just focus on the reading
and math if you need to. These are
just extras.
Scoreboards!
Your kids are doing awesome! I love checking each week to see what they accomplished and
sending those certificates! Keep it up!

GRADES
Ok, so basically the state has said that % grades are not necessary to track at this time….but
work completion and participation are.

So…here is what I am doing to take “grades”:

Reading – 5 assignments per week = 5 points per week
Math facts – 4 assignments per week = 4 points per week
Zearn Math – 4 lessons per week = 4 points per week
ZOOM – 3 sessions offered (attend at least 1) = 1-3 points given for whatever is attended (if you
have no zoom capabilities, a phone call conversation between me and your child will count as participation)
Choice Board – all 9 activities are 100% optional = 0-9 points given for what is turned in

Total - your child’s weekly completion/participation points will be entered into powerschool
and I will track it on their individual scoreboard and award certificates when earned so you
and your child can see their progress.

Minimum = 14 points per week (that is: 5 reading, 4 math facts, 4 zearn math, and 1
zoom/phone call)
14 points = “Full Credit” in powerschool

Maximum = 25 points (that is all the reading, math facts, zearn, zooms, and choice boards)
(more than)/14 points = ???% Anything your child does over the 14 assignments will
count as extra credit in powerschool and earn them extra points on their personal scoreboard.

***I hope that explanation made sense please let me know how I can support you at home so
your child will continue learning!
How to “Turn-in” an assignment (in google classroom)
1. Find the assignment in google classroom and click on “view assignment”.

2. Click on “your work” to work on the assignment. Complete the assignment.

3. When your work is done. Close the tab for the assignment (your work is automatically
saved). Your assignment tab is still there, so on that tab all you need to do is click “turn-in”
If your classroom tab isn’t there, just follow step 1 to reopen the assignment, click “turn-in”
