Best work reflective essay and artifact final

Best Work:

One of the best works that I’ve done over the past 3 years at Carson High would be a
research report that I had to do for American literature. We had to decide on what topic that we
would focus and do a research paper about that topic. The topic that I decided to do is the issue
of vaping. Therefore, I had to do a little bit of research and do an advertisement for the project.
In Addition, I also had to do the report after I had finished creating the advertisement.

There were a lot of steps that I had go through in order to get a passing grade on this
research paper. First, I went to the digital library website ran by LAUSD to find a resource that
would help me to know more about vaping. The source that I found with digital library was SIRI
issue researcher, which allowed me to access lots of articles that focuses on a certain topic. Then,
I had to write down 3 sources on a separate sheet of paper. Third, I created a simple
advertisement by drawing and using colored pencils. After that, I finally began my rough draft of
my research report, where I used the 3 articles to cite my pieces of evidence in each body
paragraph. Finally, I had begun to type my final draft and put all of the corrections made in the
previous draft of my report.

Throughout this best work during high school, I have learned a lot of things about vaping. For
example, if a person were to vape, they will be most likely to try regular cigarettes as e-cigarettes
contain more nicotine than tobacco. Second, the use of E-cigarettes or other vape products can
lead to lung damage as well as any forms of cancer. Third, vaping works by using a battery
powered container that converts liquid into clouds of vape, where the person soon puffs it out.
Fourth, E-cigarettes and Juul pods comes in different flavors like orange, bubble gum, raspberry,
and cake etc. Finally, vaping has become more popular with teens and young adults as they
consider it safer than smoking.

With this best work, I was able to demonstrate and improve my creative and thinking skills as I
used them to do this project alone. I also was able to improve my writing skills and how to cite
my evidence from other articles. In addition, it allowed me to get a passing grade in 11th grade
english with Mr. Finkelstein, since he helped us to do well in this report. I felt very proud of
myself to work very hard to efficiently put this project altogether to turn it in the day that it was
due. Overall, this research report had became one of my best works during three years at Carson
high.
