Q: What is your view of evangelism as a ministry?
A: To me evangelism means to reach out. Not only to lead by
example and to live by example, but it is the ability to love people.
The life that you live has to be according to the word of God and also
by your conversation and manner of living. Therefore, if you speak
and live the blessed life, then you are able to impart blessings to
others. Ministry resides on the inside and flows out to the people. It’s
in your DNA, so to speak.
Q: What do you think it is that God uses to draw people to you?
A: God taught me how to be a friend. Jesus was a friend to all people. When I was in school, I was always the person that
those who were bullied leaned on. Even though I was tough, I never went around pushing my size and weight. I was always
easily able to show love and compassion for people.
Q: Is there a recent situation that you can share with us where God allowed you to exercise the love of God?
A: I am a manager on my job and recently an employee was belligerent and disrespectful to me. I could have very easily
taken that situation to a different height because I am his boss. Instead, I decided to exercise forgiveness quickly. It was not
easy to do. I extended the mercy of God toward him. After that incident, I felt so much peace with God concerning that
situation. Other people were saying I should have handled it differently, but instead I extended mercy.
Q: Ryan, we also know that you are gifted in the area of music which is a powerful tool you use in evangelism. Could you tell
us a little about this and how you got started?
A: Growing up as a kid I wanted to be a rapper. I was known as a "battle rapper" which is someone who makes up lyrics as
they go. I never wrote anything down. So, it was sort of funny the first time I was in the studio to do a Christian rap. I had
to have the help of Brother Stone. When it came to recording about Jesus I was seriously aware of how important it was that
it came across the right way, so I had to study to show myself approved. I wanted the words to be God’s words and not my
own. I wanted to glorify God.
Q: As we close out, do you have some final thoughts you would like to share?
A: It is time for Christians to take a stand, because of the times we live in. We must have a firm foundation. God has given
us free will but He expects us to choose Him, because of His great love for us. The wrong choice is sinking sand. This is what
I am passing on to the people.
