Comments:
The stance is very clear and usage is appropriate in every section of the paragraph.
Academic writing as usual, NAILED IT. The paraphrase is also very good, nothing is
repeated.

Ø Coherence: Organizational Patterns (20 points possible)

o 3 parts of the essay – introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion – are clear
o paragraphs are clear: each one is united around one idea: relationship between
paragraphs is logical
o Paragraphs move between general and specific, and the topic sentences and
linking sentences (M and L) are connected

All the things are clear, nicely done! The M is general and it’ moving to specific, also M
and L are all linked together.
Ø Cohesion: Sentence fluency (20 points possible)

o Connects sentences logically, by using cohesive words/phrases and by separating


factual language from stance language (E and A)
o Quotations are integrated well, using reporting verbs and introduction phrases
o Uses compound/complex sentence structures, including noun and adjective clauses
whenever relevant
o Demonstrates mastery of basic grammar structures of English (relationship between
subjects, verbs, objects, and modifiers)

Comments:
I can easily tell which part is evidence and which part is analysis by the different type of
stance language you used. The grammar structures are so intriguing and fluent that
makes the reader wanna keep reading.

Ø Style and Tone (15 points possible)

o uses academic vocabulary to articulate ambiguous concepts with precision


o chooses correct word form (noun/adjective/verb/adverb)
o experiments with tone and voice, using implications, figurative language, or other
interesting language

As always, you have a very academic tone in the essay, which makes it very professional
and logically clear.
