Movement:

Hot potato; This game can be transformed into the circle singing game described in chapter 13.

The students could start off playing classic hot potato, and then progressively make the game

more complex by adding extra clap or having multiple potatoes travelling around the circle.

This could be done with kindergarteners or older kids depending on how complex you decide to

make it.

Listening:

Kids in Motion-Animal Action song (Source found from CD recommendations)

This song is made for the audience to pay attention to the type of animal to walk like next. This

will help students work on their music listening skills.

This lesson would work best with younger grades like kinder and first.

Instrument:

The carnival of the animals (source found from cd recommendations)

For this lesson, I would start by playing different songs featuring different instruments to get the

kids’ ears used to hearing different instruments. Then I would play this song and have them try to

listen for different instruments.

This lesson would probably be best for older grades so that they can understand the different

instruments that they’re listening to.
