County School District.

Part 3: By completing these the professional development modules I gained insight on how

important it is to make the students with disabilities as successful as possible. Students with

disabilities are just as important as any of the students in the classroom. Therefore, we as

instructors should be knowledgeable of the services that one can use. In our textbook it states

IEP’s will vary greatly in their format and what it specifies. This is determined by the team

who is composing the plan as well as following government regulations. However, they do not

specify the level of detail considered appropriate, nor do they stipulate how the IEP is to be put

together. Majority of Students with ASD Have IEPs in place for their education. The Autism

Spectrum Disorder (part 2) module go hand in hand with IEPs: Developing High-Quality

Individual Education Programs module. This is because it stated who the IEP are developed

for. It’s important to understand when working with students and helping them become

successful the instructor must become aware of who their students are. A student may have

ADHD or be Autistic. This can lead to behavioral problems. In the module Functional

Behavior Assessments: It discuss how one should understand why their students have

behavioral problems. This is because the instructor can identify how best to respond to that

student in order to correct or help improve their behavior. The textbook address different

techniques in order to fix the disruptions. The textbook as well as the module identifies

positive and negative reinforcement, as well as positive and negative punishment. These

techniques are done for numerous reasons such as a class disruption or if a student is following

direction. Its important to understand each student has a different perspective of school, rather

its from a disability or personal reasons. Therefore, an instructor must do their best to be

involved all around in order to help the student succeed.
