COURSE TITLE: HUMAN RIGHTS EDUCATION

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course aims to make the students knowledgeable on the laws that are covered
by Human Rights Education, under the 1987 Philippine Constitution and the Universal
Declaration of Human Rights and related international laws and treaties related thereto as
sources as well of a person’s basic human rights. Study cases on human rights violations and
analyze the application of the laws discussed to understand the society and the government. Be
able to learn Human Rights Based Policing as students of Criminology.

LEARNING OUTCOME (LO)


At the end of this course, the students are expected to be knowledgeable on all matters
that are pertinent and relevant in the study of the course. To be equipped with the right learning
that is need for academic advancement as they go along with the study to wit:

Guidelines:
This syllabus will guide the students on the flow of the topics, as laws in this particular

CLASS POLICIES:

1. Attendance: students are required to arrive on time and leaving the class unexcused is
strictly prohibited, except if such student will ask permission from the
professor/instructor and it must be for a valid cause. Attendance must be taken at the
beginning of every session and a student shall be marked tardy 15 minutes after the set
time and absent after 20 minutes of the schedules time. In case the student is absent from
the class, he/she shall be required to submit an excuse letter signed by his/her parent/
guardian and with an attached photocopy of their parents’ ID.
1.1 students with three (3) unexcused consecutive absences shall be considered dropped
before the midterm and shall be considered failed after the midterm.
1.2 Students with four (4) unexcused non-consecutive absences shall be considered
dropped before the midterm and shall be considered failed after the midterm
