THE HISTORY OF CLAREDITA FALLS

CHAPTER I

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

Introduction

In the province of Quirino one of the municipality is called Aglipay that is composed of

12 barangays. And one of the barangay is Victoria. Victoria has 7 puroks and the last purok isa

called Diawe.

Diawe is found in a mountainous place where wild animals and indigenous people lives

in. Most of the people lives near the low land and seldom you see houses beneath the mountain.

Sitio diawe has a natural waterfall where youth usually spend time with.

That waterfall where usually visited by people that counts the three (3) cousins namely

clarita, eddi and edita. While they are enjoying their picnic, the Ilongot tribes who are considered

head hunters cut the heads of the three cousins and thrown the heads in the water and it turned

into red. The heads were blown and it was found by elders in the lower part of the waterfall.

From that time on, they name the waterfall Claredita in memory of the 3 cousins
Statement of the Problem

This study aims to evaluate the history of the Claredita Falls.

Specifically, it sought to answer the following questions:

. 1. To know the history of Claredita falls?

2. How Claredita falls got its name?

Significance of the Study

The result if this study will merit the following:

Students. This study will help the students to develop their critical awareness in

their own historical and cultural heritage of respective localities.

Community. Determine the history of the Claredita falls and be able to share

some information.

Future Researchers. The result of this study could serve as baseline data who

have the same similar topic in this research.

Scope and Limitation

This study will determine the history of Claredita falls in the Barangay of Victoria,

Aglipay, Quirino. The respondents of the study were randomly selected. It also involved the
information’s provided by the respondents that is living in the community. The result of the

study is applicable to the community of the barangay.

The researcher considered working on this study because there is only limited number of

residents on the barangay who knows the history of Claredita falls.

Definition of Terms

Waterfall- a cascade of water falling from a height, formed when a river or stream flows

over a precipice or steep incline.

Respondents- a cascade of water falling from a height, formed when a river or stream

flows over a precipice or steep incline.

Victoria- is a barangay in the municipality of Aglipay, in the province of Quirino. Its

population as determined by the 2015 Census was 1,295. This represented 4.66% of the

total population of Aglipay.

History- the study of past events, particularly in human affairs; the whole series of past

events connected with someone or something.


CHAPTER II

METHODOLOGY

Research Design

This study used the descriptive research method which is designed for the

researcher to gather information about the history of Claredita Falls in the Barangay of

Victoria, Aglipay, Quirino. This method enables the researcher to interpret the findings of

the study efficiently.

Sampling Technique

Purposive sampling technique was used in interviewing the respondents for the

research study, history of Claredita falls.

Data Collection Techniques

The data collected is used through interviewing the respondents using the random

sampling technique and the use of Audi materials.
