Specif ications
The Dimmer Equipment Bank shall consist of a
free-standing, factory assembly of rack units
constructed with welded steel f ramework
members and .125" (3.2mm) standard sized
aluminum alloy cover panels which shall be
secured to the f ramework assembly with
screws for ease of access. Steel trim pieces
shall be provided for each corner of the com-
plete assembly and between each factory se-
cured modular unit. The finish shall be baked
enameL
Each di m mer space shal I have a gu ide for ease
of insertion and withdrawal of the dimmer
module from a complete tray sub-assembly.
Each complete tray sub-assembly shall be re-
moveable f rom the Dimmer Equipment Bank
for ease of maintenance.
The front bottom face panel of each rack shall
be screened for air intake. Quiet running, low
speed exhaust fans located on top of each
rack shall maintain the temperature around
the dimmer modules at a proper operating
level provided the maximum ambient room
temperature does not exceed 104'F (40'C). A
thermal sensing device shall be included
which will indicate by means of a pilot light
when the dimmer bank reaches a temperature
in excess of 1 04"F (40"C).
Each individual dimmer space shall include
factory wired, heavy duty, free-floating,
female, power and control jacks to ensure
proper seating of the dimmer module male
pins when the dimmer is inserted.
The complete assembly shall be factory wired
to properly identified load and control
pressure-type terminal strips located behind a
hinged, front access panel at the top of each
rack unit.
The system shall be designed for 3 phase, 4
wire, 120i208V, 60 Hz operation at
amperes/phase.
The Dimmer Equipment Bank shall not exceed
81" H x 19" D x-" W, (2057 mm H x 483 -

The Bank shall include but not be limited to the
following:
A.- 2.4 KW dimmer spaces (stage)
B.- 3.6 KW dimmer spaces (stage)
C.-7.2 KW dimmer spaces (stage)
D.- 12 KW dimmer spaces (stage)
E. KW dimmer spaces (house)
F. ampere mercury relay non dims
- - with f ully magnetic primary cir-
cuit breaker protection.
G. One transfer contactorto bypass the house-
light controllers and transfer the houselight
dimmers to full control voltage. The house-
lights shall be instantly switched to full inten-
sity upon energization of any "Panic" switch
in any of the designated locations. The house-
lights shall return to the control of the house-
light controllers upon energization of any
''Normal" switch
H. The main disconnect device as well as any
miscellaneous addrtional relays and equip-
ment shall be located in a separate power sec-
tion of the equipment bank. The entire system
shall be rendered operative or inoperative by
an (electrically) (mechanically) operated 3
phase main disconnect.
