    PROPOSAL B (as part of Tangled Embankment)

    Work Title: Bracken and Bells [Mvt.2]

    Instrumentation: 4 high-octave crotales [E7, F#7, A7, B7], 3 wood slats (high, medium, low), 2 glass
    bottles (high, low) + tape

    This piece uses a variety of more found sounds in the wood, glass and metallic crotales,
    Bracken and Bells takes a spiritually sonic demeanour. Meditative and calming, this three-
    minute miniature works in the cruxes of sounds worlds beyond that of the natural, and takes
    influence from images such as burning incense, but also more sinister images of burnt
    bracken in forests. A hovering existence is implied in this movement of the micro-cycle,
    Tangled Embankment.
