J.L.: Good afternoon, Doctor Smith! I am John Longman.
I have a doctor’s appointment that I
made two days ago. D: Hello, mr. Longman. I know that you booked an emergency appointment. What’s the matter? J.L.: Well, as you may know, I was tested negative for Covid 19. Still, I am apprehensive of this whole situation. I noticed some changes, as I haven’t been feeling myself lately. D: Can you be more specific? J.L.: I feel a general malaise. I am moody and on top of that I pass large stools. D: When I talked to you on the phone, I recommended you to take some pills. Have you been on medication as I said? J.L.: I took those pills on and off as I noticed that they caused me severe drowsiness. What’s more is that I feel a sore throat. D: I’ll get it checked. I can see an inflamation there. Have you experienced nasal discharge or coryza? J.L.: Yes, both of them actually. Besides, I always sneeze and cough. What could it be?! Please, don’t get me down, doctor. D: No worries! As you have tested negative for Coronavirus, you can calm down. I suppose that it’s the seasonal flu. I will prescribe you anti-inflamatory drugs. However, I don’t recommend taking paracetamol, as your medical history shows that you had built up tolerance to it. J.L: Thank you Doctor! I’ll listen to your advices.
