RESUMO
ABSTRACT
Several chronic diseases of the liver lead to a final stage called cirrhosis, in which the
liver loses its axial condition and becomes nodular. Cirrhosis is one of the ten leading
causes of death in the West, and research on this subject is paramount in terms of
health. Particular morphological findings of liver cirrhosis are represented by vascular
changes that occur with nodular transformation of the liver parenchyma. The aim of this
study is to present whether there is a possible symptomatic reversal or even remission
of hepatic cirrhosis in chronic patients. To meet this objective, a description of the
disease, epidemiology, pathophysiology, actions of prevention of liver cirrhosis and
treatment will be presented. It has been concluded that liver transplantation is the only
guarantor of cure nowadays for chronic cases of cirrhosis, however recent studies
show that in cases of regression of type B hepatitis have important and considerable
consequences in cases of liver cirrhosis.
