Pinellas County CSPOA Survey Results:

Over the past few months the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association in FL sent
surveys to all candidates participating in the 2016 Florida sheriff’s election. We seek to reach the
voter and document the critical importance that local elections play in our Republic. We intend
this to serve as a clarion call to all Democrats, Republicans and third party voters alike.

James Madison said the people can safely rely on the disposition of local legislators to erect
barriers against the encroachments of the Federal Government, further demonstrating the
importance of local and state elections.

America was founded on a system of checks and balances between various levels of government.
This check and balance structure is intended to prevent any one level of government from
gaining too much power, ensuring balance and a just government. Your county sheriff is an
integral part of maintaining the balance of power between the states and Federal Government.

But how? And what is a Constitutional Sheriff? Most all public servants, before entering office,
swear an oath to uphold the U.S. and state constitutions. This is the main purpose of their entire
role. In addition to upholding the law, the constitutional sheriff stands as the last line of defense
for the personal liberties of the people.

Issues of our constitutional rights are divided at times between various parties and a tendency
exists in the court of public opinion as to what rights we should have. Regardless of our
opinions, a constitutional process exists to amend our rights. It is not the duty of a Sheriff to side
with a certain issue, but they must jealously protect the constitutional rights of all.

Let the following examples demonstrate the benefits of a constitutional sheriff.

2011 Elkhart County, IN: Sheriff Brad Rogers defended a farmer who was being harassed by the
FDA, The Sheriffs Response? He sent a letter to the FDA and DOJ threatening to arrest them if
they attempted to inspect the property without the appropriate warrants.
The farmer then received a certified letter from the DOJ dismissing him from appearing before a
grand jury and over the last five years, the FDA inspectors and DOJ have not returned to the
property since Sheriff Rogers interposed for the farmer.

2013 Liberty County, FL: Sheriff Nick Finch nullified the arrest of a citizen for trumped up gun
charges. In a knee jerk reaction by the State, Sheriff Finch was arrested for protecting this
citizens right. Sheriff Finch was then acquitted by a jury in court and immediately reinstated as
Sheriff receiving full back pay from the state.

2013 El Dorado County, CA: Sheriff John D’Agostini had received numerous complaints from
citizens regarding the abusive behavior of U.S. Forest Service Law Enforcement. The sheriff’s
response? He revoked the policing powers of the federal agency in his county!

These are just three examples that document the powers of the sheriff and how the constitutional
sheriff serves Democrats, Republicans and NPA’s voters.

So we must ask ourselves, what do we want in a sheriff this year? Is your sheriff responsive to
the people? When will one of the above stories be you? We think unjust things will never
happen, yet the above stories happened to people like you and me. Luckily in these situations,
the citizens relied on the disposition of the Sheriff to erect the barriers and interpose on their
behalf. So we move the citizens to vote for the constitutional sheriff or candidate, below is their
status and how they scored.
