thing about a job. Other people think that doing enjoyable work is more
important, even if the job does not pay well. Which is more important to
you: work that pays well or work that is enjoyable? Give specific reasons
and examples to support your answer
People have different views about whether a decent salary or an interesting work is the most
important factor when choosing a job. While people often pay attention to an enjoyable task
when it comes to job satisfaction, I believe that money is much more important. I feel this way
for two main reasons, which I will explore in the following essay.
To begin with, it is obvious that by making a lot of money, you will be able to afford the best
living standard. This would definitely contribute greatly to the quality of your life. Furthermore,
earning a high salary also allows you to spend money on different sources of entertainment after
hard-working hours, which would benefit your mental health in the long term. To take my
personal experience as an example, a few years ago, when I was working at KPMG, a big four
company in the Auditing field, I have participated in a three-month intensive project to audit for
a company in Ho Chi Minh City. The project has taken us several weeks to work in the office
without any proper rest. However, after that, I earned a lot of money and went on a seven-day
vacation in Dubai to refresh my mind. Had it not been for my salary, I would not have been able
to afford such a luxury trip.
Secondly, it can be seen from reality that money is a huge motivation source that would force
people to work harder and harder. This would allow people to maximize their capability and
strengthen their personal skills to become a well-rounded individual, who will undoubtedly be
very competitive in the labor market in the future. My personal experience is a compelling
example of this. During the time I was working at KPMG, I earned such a decent salary that
allow me to pay tuition fee to register on various accounting and auditing courses. In those
courses, I had the chance to study with the most successful individuals in my field, which
benefited me a lot in my career path.
In conclusion, I believe that a high salary is the most important factor that people should
consider when choosing a job because it will allow them to afford a good living standard as well
as motivate them in their work.
