LESSON PLAN IN MAPEH

Grade 6

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:
a. Understand the effects of being physically active for better health;
b. Demonstrate the physical activities that can be done at home.
c. Recognize the value of participating to some physical activities.

IV. Procedure:
A. Classroom Routine
Preparation Phase:
Good morning class, Okay, may I request everyone to please rise for the prayer?
Roll call class, say present if your name is called.
Very good! Everybody is present.
Now, let’s review what we have discussed yesterday, what are the skills involve in
dancing?
Is team work important in a performance? Why?

B. Presentation
We will now have a group activity. I want you to form three (3) groups and I want
you to enumerate what are the things that will happened to you if you will not be
active.

Regular physical activity can help you from the following health problems:
1. Heart disease and stroke
2. Diabetes
3. Obesity
4. Back pain
5. Osteoporosis
6. Self-esteem and stress management
7. Disability

C. Activity
With your group, you will demonstrate the physical activities that can be done
at home and give ways that you can do to have a healthy life.
D. Analysis
Teacher: What is physical fitness?
E. Abstract
What is the value of participating in physical activities?
F. Application
Get ½ sheet of paper and write an essay about what is physical fitness?

G. Assessment/Evaluation:
Which is NOT a benefit of being active? Put check before the number.

3. High blood pressure
4. Low self esteem
5. Stroke

H. Assignment
In a short bond paper, make a collage using cut out pictures of physical fitness.
