Secretariat Employees and Employees, Teachers and Workers of Andhra Pradesh to Chief
Minister’s Relief Fund towards Flood affected people – Orders Issued.

O R D E R:

In the reference 1st read above, the Chairman, A.P. Secretariat Employees Co-
ordination Committee, Secretariat, Hyderabad expressed solidarity to the Government in its
efforts on the unprecedented severe natural disaster due to Floods during the month of
August, 2006 in our State which caused great loss to the people living in Andhra Pradesh in
all aspects, and felt that it is their bounden duty to share with the difficulties of the people at
this stage and decided to contribute one day’s Basic pay from the salaries of the Secretariat
Employees for the month of August’ 2006 to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for utilization
for welfare of the people , who are affected by the Floods.

2. In the reference 2nd read above, the Joint Action Committee of Employees,
Teachers and Workers, A.P., Hyderabad had reviewed the position on the great loss occurred
to human, Agriculture lands washed away in the Floods on account of the recent
unprecedented heavy rains, which has also caused breaches to the National Highway Roads
and other B.T. Roads and informed the Government their unanimous decision to contribute
one day’s Basic Pay from all the Employees, Teachers and Workers of Andhra Pradesh as a,
gesture to help the Government at this critical juncture and they have also requested to issue
necessary orders for recovery of one day’s Basic Pay from the Salary of all the Employees for
the month of August’2006 payable in September’2006.

3. Accordingly, all Departments of Secretariat, all the Heads of Departments, District


Collectors and all Drawing and Disbursing Officers in the State are hereby, directed to deduct
one day’s basic pay from the salary of employees of State Government, Grant-in –aid
institutions and others who are paid under salary head towards contribution to the Chief
Minister’s Relief Fund from the salary of August 2006 payable on 1st September, 2006 to the
victims of the Flood affected areas. In respect of Grant-in-aid institutions, Lump-sum
deductions may be made wherever individual pay particulars are not furnished.

4. The amount so deducted shall be credited to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund
under the following head of account by way of separate schedules by the Drawing and
disbursing Officers by attaching separate schedules to the pay bills for the month of August’
2006. In the case of employees of the Grant-in-aid institutions and others, the amount so
deducted shall be credited to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund through challans.

5. All the Treasury Officers and the Pay and Accounts Officer, Hyderabad shall
ensure that the correct deductions are made from the pay bills as above and the amounts
credited to the said Head of Account.

6. The Pay and Accounts Officer, Hyderabad and the Director of Treasuries and
Accounts, A.P., Hyderabad shall personally be responsible to ensure that full deductions are
made and remitted into the “Chief Minister’s Relief Fund” and inform the same to the
Principal Secretary to Government, Revenue Department., A.P., Secretariat, Hyderabad and to
the Special Chief Secretary to Government, Finance Department, A.P., Secretariat, Hyderabad
without fail.
