Subject: 21st Century Literature from the Philippines and the World

I. OBJECTIVE
Content Standard:
The learner will be able to understand and appreciate the elements and contexts of 21st
century Philippine literature from the regions.
Performance Standard:
The learner will be able to demonstrate understanding and appreciation of 21st Century
Philippine literature from the regions through:
1. a written close analysis and critical interpretation of a literary text in terms of form and
theme, with a description of its context derived from research; and
2. an adaptation of a text into other creative forms using multimedia.
Learning Competency:
Writing a close analysis and critical interpretation of literary texts and doing an adaptation
of these require from the learner the ability to:
1. Identify the geographic linguistic, and ethnic dimensions of Philippine literary history
from pre-colonial to contemporary.
Specific Objectives:
1. Identify the types of Prose
2. Create a short story about the student’s childhood memories
3. Classify the different Literary Genres.

Instruction:
Write a short story about the most unforgettable memories of your childhood.
 Analysis
1. What do you feel while writing your own childhood memories?
2. What is the mood of your short story?
3. What is the moral lesson of your short story?

 Abstraction
 Video Presentation: The teacher will play video presentation of the lesson.
 Discussion of the Topic: What is Prose?

 At the end of discussion, the students will be asked about their learnings on the
