This guide is for people who only want to barter for money and not progress further for better
boat gear (and more efficient bartering) as well as not progress further towards a Carrack
(BiS boat atm). If you have any further questions, feel free to message me on Discord.

Stage 1:
To start bartering you will need a vessel to move goods around. Grab yourself an Epheria
Sailboat from the Central Market or with S
 hakatu seals (50).
Great, now we can already start. But we won’t get into bartering just yet.

Now is the time to select your bartering waifu that won’t see the mainland ever again.
Don’t tell my fbi agent, but my personal favourite is a lv49 loli Tamer with full weight and
weight gear because she can neglect being overweight (which is important later on when
going into min maxing b ut doesn’t matter for actual bartering yet).

Other than that, any character that has some spammable skills that neglect being overweight
and is above level 50 can do just fine! (lv49 protects you against boat pvp, which could
become a real issue later on when people start pirating around. You would need to
transfer the sailing exp with a pearl scroll onto a lvl 49 char later on if you want to
keep that protection). If you don’t care - any Lv50+ will do.
Stage 2:
Now that you have chosen the goddess of money making we need to get her to Skilled 1
Sailing otherwise you won’t have a good time on the water. It’s fairly easy - If you are lvl 50
or above, your black friend (no... not Tyrone…) will have a main quest for you called
Vigorous Velia. Take this one and grab a fast horse - you will have to run around for half of
the quest like a Musa that has a severe case of ADHD. The questline will take 2-3hrs of
your life.

After you are done with the first part where all you did was talking to people around Velia you
are now finally allowed to get your virtual waifu wet (what an achievement, Chief ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)).
The quest will make you go slowly towards Oquilla’s Eye (north of Lema). On the way you
will have to ram (Q) or shoot down a few smaller seamonsters (Hungry Hekaru and Young
Stalker) to death. Bring some Ship Repair Material just in case if you don’t want to go to a
wharf and repair after every mob. To properly execute the ramming you will need a distance
of about 2-3 boats between you and the mob because only the end animation of the ram skill
does the damage! Nostalgia of old SMH money making..

The mobs will drop Sea Monster’s Ooze , pick it up - you will need 150 of them later on.
(If you struggle later on getting those then ask a friend who has a better boat to help
you out, it’s only like 8 kills)
Follow the questline until you are done with it. By the end you will be Skilled 1 Sailing - thus
being able to do the WINDY THRUST OF ACCELERATION MADNESS aka Breezy Sails,
an equivalent of the Instant Acceleration skill from Horses but longer and mightier, just how
you like it ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). Oh and btw, take the Verdant Blackstones as reward from the
quest.
Now you can tick the “Continuous Breezy Sails” Checkbox and let go off W key to
auto sail at full speed into one direction. Welcome to Netflix and Sail.

Stage 3:
Now that you are done with this, it’s time to get to know the importance of 3 quests that you
will have to do. The quests in this stage are both in Oquilla’s Eye.
2 of those are dailies that you will forget after day 2, the other one is essential to save you
50% of your work towards a Caravel.

[Daily] Ravikel's Test - Barter 5 times for x8 Deep Sea Memory Filled Glue (you will
only need 4x for the Caravel). Do this quest after Stage 4, first start with Stage 4, you may
have more bartering to do with Stage 4 - so combine those ;)

[Daily] Precious Coral Piece - Give 10 coral pieces (buy from market) for x4

Seaweed Stalk (⚠you will need to do this daily twice because you need x6
Seaweed Stalks for the upgrade to a Caravel)

All the other dailies are irrelevant if you are only going for the Caravel with green gear.
Stage 4:
The essential quest that you will have to endure doing 7 times will be
Ravina’s Ship Upgrade Log I - VII, found further East of Oquilla’s Eye at Crow’s Nest.

(Entrance is south-west of the island, there is a small pier to dock on (no wharf though))

Grab 3x Compass Pieces, assemble them into a compass and go talk to Ravina. The
activity you have to do during the quest every day will be different every time (it could be
some fishing, or some coral gathering or simply talking to people on an Island/Mainland or
Margoria). The quest is family wide, thus allowing you to finish it on other characters to save
some time going across half the map…

After you are done with the last quest from Ravina on day 7, your total rewards will be:
- Sailing EXP
- Verdant Black Stone x100
- Graphite Ingot (Upgrade) x50
- Timber (Upgrade) x50
- Adhesive (Upgrade) x50
- Sea Coins x1000
That is essentially 50% of a Caravel and half of its enhanced green gear.
⚠Don’t spend the Sea Coins on anything yet! You will need 1600 of them later on
for green Caravel gear enhancement.
Stage 5 (pre-bartering):
Now we are finally starting to get to the actual main activity you will be doing for the rest of
your days - the joy of bartering itself.
Read this stage fully before starting with bartering! There is crucial information in
here that will help you not commiting Esc-Esc out of your life. Read the next page!!!
Your goal now basically consists of only bartering and accumulating your total barter count
to unlock new routes. Here is a small snip of routes unlocked after a certain amount of
barters:

Accumulated Number of Exchanges Available Routes

0 1

10 2

30 3

70 4

150 5

310 6
It continues in the same formula of (nr of previous exchanges x 2) + 10 until 20470
(12 routes)

Your initial goal for now (until you have a Caravel) will be to accumulate 70 barters so you
unlock all the Islands around Ancado for coin trades (as additional money). Bartering is
simple - you load in items in your boat (Load Cargo), go to an island that wants those goods
and you barter them in exchange for better goods. You repeat this process until you arrive at
a T5 barter good that you can either sell to a vendor(wharf) for 5m each or trade in for
Sea Coins that you can use for Manos Accessories.
Anyways, you won’t be cashing out yet since your barter count is as low as the IQ of an
average Striker player. So we need to get rid of this first.

Open up the map and check what trades are available (either look at the map icons on the
islands or click the Barter Search Icon on the bottom right).

First you grab all the T1s available to you -

(Your boat will be nearly full after this trade - 4800/5000LT) so you go to the closest wharf
with a storage (Ilya or Port Epheria) and bank those 6 items into the storage). Click “Load
Cargo” to put the items from the boat into the storage.

After you load in 2x T1s you pray to RNGesus for a 1:3 trade -
Since we are in the process of ranking up your total bartering count, it doesn’t matter much
what ratio this trade is you will need to do them all until you reach a good number of
barters.

Since we arrived at T2 items now is a good time to plug in something super

important for the Caravel upgrade and save yourself from crippling depressions
later

The talk is about T2 goods that you need to keep hold of in Epheria Storage.
Under all circumstances, have 1x of each trade good.
Here is a list:
[Level 2] Filtered Drinking Water Island Tree Coated Plywood x100

[Level 2] Narvo Sea Cucumber

[Level 2] Pirate Gold Coin

[Level 2] Conch Shell Ornament Rock Salt Ingot x100

[Level 2] Balanced Stone Pagoda

[Level 2] Urchin Spine

⚠The trade will occasionally pop up in Netnume Island. Always be aware after you reset
your barters. You will need x100 Island Tree Coated Plywood as well as 100x Rock Salt
Ingots for your Caravel. One trade gives 100x of them so keeping 1x item of the above
is essential.

From here on you continue doing the same process towards T5 goods which you trade in for
coins - no matter how low the roll (except for Hakoven later on, don’t do that one if it’s below
200 Sea Coins…).
⚠Now the only brain activity that comes into play for bartering, is to plan your routes
ahead so your boat never exceeds the maximal LT it has. When the boat exceeds its
weight you won’t be able to use any more skills like Breezy Sails which slows you
down significantly. We won’t talk about use cases for overweight bartering yet.
Maybe in a future advanced mechanics guide.

Your goal is to accumulate barters and slowly build your bartering storage.
Final Storage organization should be as following (quite irrelevant for us now):
Port Epheria: T0, T2, T3, T4
Ilya Island: T1, T2, T3, T4, T5
Ancado: T5

Keep accumulating T1s as well since you will need to trade in around 120 of those
for Verdant Black Stones later on. You need a total of 220x Verdant Black
Stones to upgrade the Old Gear to +10 for the Caravel (this one doesn’t downgrade
and doesn’t need failstacks - thus it’s a safe enhancement).

Stage 6:
Upgrading to the Caravel requires you to have the following mats:

Ship Upgrade Permit: Epheria Caravel Costs 400mil - Buy from Falasi

+10 Epheria: Old Prow Buy from Falasi - Enchant with Verdant
Blackstones

+10 Epheria: Old Plating Buy from Falasi - Enchant with Verdant
Blackstones

+10 Epheria: Old Cannon Buy from Falasi - Enchant with Verdant
Blackstones

+10 Epheria: Old Sail Buy from Falasi - Enchant with Verdant
Blackstones

Graphite Ingot for Upgrade x100 Heating(Zinc Ingot + Sea Monster’s

Ooze)

Timber for Upgrade x100 Chopping(Old Tree Bark + Red Tree

Lump Sea Monster’s Ooze)

Adhesive for Upgrade x100 Heating(White Cedar Sap + Acacia Sap

+ Elder Tree Sap + Sea Monster’s
Ooze)

Island Tree Coated Plywood x100 T2 Barter

Rock Salt Ingot x100 T2 Barter

Deep Sea Memory Filled Glue x4 Daily

Seaweed Stalk x6 Daily

That means you will have to either buy or gather x5000 of the following to complete
the Caravel Upgrade if you have followed the guide up to this point:

- Zinc Ingot
- Old Tree Bark
- Red Tree Lump
- White Cedar Sap
- Acacia Sap
- Elder Tree Sap
A quick breakdown on the items above..
◘The Ship Upgrade Permit is bought for 400mil from Falasi in Epheria.

◘Additionally you will buy the entire “Old” gearset and upgrade it with Verdant
Blackstones to +10. It won’t downgrade and requires no failstacks. Verdant
Blackstones are obtained by exchanging T1 goods for a Barter Voucher in either
Ilya Island, Velia or Port Epheria which you take to Crow’s Nest. One voucher
equals one blackstone.

◘Furthermore, you use the Sea Monster’s Ooze that you looted from the hungry sea
monsters in processing and craft the (Upgrade) Materials needed - that part may
take a while because the market is drier than EU’s PvP scene…
◘Anyways, after getting this done you hopefully were lucky on your T2 barters for
Rock Salt Ingot and Island Tree Coated Plywood.
◘Finally the last two items should have been obtained in the first 2 days of dailies.

When you are done with the checklist grab all the materials and go to a wharf
manager, check in your Sailboat and click on Upgrade. Select the Caravel in there
and there you go - the big boi vessel you have been striving for.

Are we done with this? Not quite. The base Caravel has some minor weight issues.
Now the Sea Coins (1600) come into play. Head to Crow’s Nest and use the Sea

Coins to buy 40x Fiery and 60x Frosty Blackstones from Ravina.

Now go back to Falasi and buy the Epheria Caravel: … - Green Gear. Use Fiery
blackstones until +5 and then Frosties until +10. I’ve not used any failstacks and
spammclicked to +10. The amount of Blackstones was enough to get all 4 pieces to
+10 - you may use small stacks of 5-10fs on the final enchants (+8 to +10) just to be
safe if you have a severe case of PTSD from enhancing.
Slap the gear on your Caravel and voilá, 11.500LT - pretty lit amount for bartering.
Stage 7 (main bartering):
Once you have enough items stockpiled in Ilya Island and Port Epheria you can
start going the so called Top-Down approach.
I will try to describe the way I do it.

 econd alt with S

I’ve left this part out of the guide but you will want to have a s killed 1
Sailing and a second Epheria Sailboat/Frigate at Ancado Harbor.

I start off by looking at the Ancado coin trades.

My personal thresholds are as following:
● Hakoven above 200 Coins
● Derko/Kashuma/Halmad combined above 250 Coins
If those conditions aren’t met, I skip the coin trades for Ancado in this barter window.
The coins are currently valued at about 130k each (EU market prices linked to
Manos Accessories).
(Refer to the Ancado Coin Runs section further below)

Next up I do all the T5 trades and 1:3 Trades available around my current location
(Either Lema/Ilya Island or Port Epheria).

Obviously, you should try to combine the routes so you don’t go from 1 Barter back
to Storage (except 1:3 because you are fully packed afterwards).

I buffer 4 of each T5 in Ancado Harbor, so if my buffer doesn’t need refilling I sell the
T5s straight to a Wharf Manager for 5m each. Otherwise I send the T5 with Map
transport to Ancado.

I sometimes prioritize some T4 trades over other because I may have an abundance
of a specific kind…
If you accumulate a decent amount of routes then you will unlock Margoria routes
which give either Sea Coins or 10m T5 items. You should do those as well in one go
- and don’t forget the compass...
Ancado Coin Runs (Outdated due to coin value changes):
Basically you will need a second Character with Skilled Sailing 1 (You can do Vigorous
Velia questline on that character as well for fast skilled 1). You will need a second Sailboat
as well here, preferably a Frigate with speed gear for max gains. The total time it takes to
complete both paths is about 21 minutes. An alternative to a second sailboat would be
transporting your main boat to Ancado (takes 10minutes and 100k) and then transporting it
back after you are done.

● Put the three items in your boat at ● Put the item in your boat at Ancado

Character Transport back to Ancado

Transport T5s to Ancado via Town Transport. I personally always keep 4 of each T5 in the
Ancado storage as a buffer (There are 14 types of T5). You can transport 5 items every
~4hrs.
Advanced Tips and Tricks for more Bartering Efficiency:
● If your boat gets stuck, jump off of it, swim 30-40 units away and then left click the
anchor to spawn it underneath you.
● Don’t “Explore” islands if your boat has less than 60% durability, your sailors might
find Putin’s Pet Bear which will destroy the boat and probably sink it.
● Have a tagged alt with extra weight to carry items
○ Use wharfs all around the map to save some trips and overstack goods from
your boat onto your tagged waifu.
● Have a storage container in Lema. It will save you so many extra trips to Ilya (Lema
residence connects to Ilya storage)
● Balance out all your barter items T1-T4 between Ilya storage and Port Epheria. Try to
maintain a good amount of each item in both storages to avoid going across the map
to get the needed items.
● Keep T0 items in Velia and Port Epheria (Majority in Velia to access with storage
maid)
● Never remote collect your boat when you have Sailors or Barter items on it. It will
fuck up their existence.
● Check in and Check out your boat at a wharf to position it properly (no need to do the
truck movement anymore to get out of the wharf)
● Only go for the innocent goblin Sailors. Those have the so far highest speed scaling.
Use the frigate alt to lvl them quickly during the dailies, you want at least 3.0 speed at
lvl 8 from them. Otherwise grind them into minced meat and buy some new ones and
rinse repeat.
● Use a dedicated skilled 1 sailing alt in Ancado harbor, with its own sailboat/frigate to
do the trades from Ancado to Hakoven OR the three islands to the left of Ancado.
Don’t run sailors on this boat because you will remote collect it often after dying and
respawning back to Ancado.
● Keep 2 T5s of any kind in Ilya island and have 3+ of each T5 in Ancado as a buffer. 2
T5s in Ancado are usually enough but the more buffer the more you can slack
occasionally and only do coin trades instead of full cycles.
● Transport the T5s via Storage Transport. It takes around 4hrs to transport the items,
and you can transport 5 T5s at once. Do it before you sleep.
● You can use Shakatu storage as an additional buffer storage for the T5s and take a
few with you when moving from Shakatu to Ancado via Char-transport.
● You don’t need to keep any T5s or T1s in Port Epheria.
● Always hit “Explore” whenever you can at a barter point. This helps recover your
sailors stamina or might even give you a barter supply box with shittons of T0s.
● Use “Continuously use BreezySails” checkbox religiously. This will be your main
thrust towards semi-afk money. It doesn’t work if your boat has less than 50% health
or you autopath.
● Last but not least - don’t be an idiot and use Sea Coins to buy any material for your
Caravel/Galleas/Carrack. This is a pure waste - acquire the parts via dailies and
barters (mats unlocked at 2551 and 5111 accumulated trades).
● Use a spreadsheet to keep track of your storages - you can copy mine:
