Undergraduate Exams and Lab work Policy for Courses disrupted by COVID-19

An online meeting of Dean’s Committee was held with the Worthy Rector on Wednesday (13.05.2020) in
which a policy of NTU is finalized for undergraduate exams and Lab work of the courses disrupted by
COVID-19. This policy, as given below, is hereby notified for information of all concerned:

1. Online teaching of the current semester (Spring 2020) will end on 12th June 2020.
2. Exams either online or on campus will be started from 20th July 2020. The time period between 12th June
and 19th July will be used for exams preparation and make up classes (if any).
3. In case the lockdown ends on 15th July, the exams will be held on campus as per routine. If the lockdown
extends from 15th July, online exams will be conducted.
4. The exam will consist of single question paper of seventy (70) marks containing two parts. Part A (30
marks) corresponding to course before mid-semester and Part B (40 marks) from course after mid
semester.
5. Only Pass/Fail grade will be awarded and there will be no effect on the CGPA of the students.
6. Academic penalty (if any) i.e. probation/ expulsion will be suspended, and no student will be expelled
based on the result of current semester.
7. The students will have to repeat the course with “F” grade as per rules in the coming semester(s).
University may allow enrollment of higher number of credit hours (CH) than normally allowed CH in
upcoming semesters, on case to case basis.
8. Details for online exam format will be shared before 15th June.
9. If lockdown ends, remaining Lab work will be completed on campus during the month of August 2020. If
lockdown extends, remaining lab work may be completed along with next semester courses.
10. The students who have completed practical work (in industry or in campus), they can defend Final Year
Project (FYP) online. Other students will be allowed to complete their practical work on opening of
university before defense of FYP.
11. No student will have to pay fee of any ungraded/ incomplete course twice. However, a “Fail” course will
have to be re-enrolled with fee as per rules in subsequent semesters.
