Ingredients for a powerful holy hour: A close, loving relationship with God depends on a
rich prayer life. Ingredients of a strong prayer life include scripture reading and quiet
meditation. The Bible contains everything God wants us to know, so start with a verse or
chapter; then spend time in silence listening to what God wants your heart to know. When
we have faith that God personally loves us and wants what is best, we eagerly await the
plan He has for us. The conviction that God hears and answers us makes our prayer truly
powerful. Call Joie (330-745-6852) today for an hour, and listen to what Gods wants your heart to
know.

Dear Parishioners:
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, VBS has been cancelled and there will be no Parish Picnic
this year to celebrate the Feast of St. Augustine. We hope to celebrate our Feast Day with the
picnic next year as well as VBS!
Christ’s Peace!
As we come together in prayer beginning Memorial Day – Monday, May 25 at 9:00am, please with
God’s grace in your hearts, observe the following protocol as we keep one another in prayer.
At this time, following the Mass on May 25, we will resume daily Monday – Friday Masses at their
regular times. Weekend Masses are yet to be determined.
Please note: The dispensation from obligation to attend Sunday Mass remains in effect until further
notice. You are not obliged to return to Mass at this time.
Be Someone's Angel Monday, May 18 for - Be Someone’s Angel Mr. Tony Agnesi,
Hosts, The Storyteller’s Radio Program heard locally on WILB, Living Bread Radio
Catholic Charities - Because of you, thousands of people across our diocese have found help and hope at
Catholic Charities during these challenging times. Requests for assistance have increased drastically since the
pandemic began. Hot meal programs that transitioned to a takeout model saw an increase of up to 50%, St.
Augustine Hunger Center is delivering more than 500 meals per day to those in need, pre-packaged pantry
distribution has increased up to 3x more than before the pandemic began, and the St. Elizabeth Center shelter is
practicing social distancing by moving all clients to motels. Thanks to your generosity, we are able to respond
to these requests, serving more people and changing more lives than we ever thought possible.
As of April 30th, a total of 36,249 faithful donors from across the Diocese have pledged $10.5 million towards
the Annual Appeal goal of $13.5 million. Here at St. Augustine, Barberton, 185 parishioners have pledged
$34,650 toward our parish goal of $54,608. That is 63% of our overall goal! Your financial support makes a
difference and transforms lives. Thank you on behalf of those served by Catholic Charities. If you have not yet
made your gift, please visit www.CatholicCommunity.org/donate or contact Sarah Yantek by email –
syantek@catholiccommunity.org or phone – 216-696-6525 x1049. Alternatively, you can text CCHOPE to 41444.
Thank you!
During this time of social distancing, St. Augustine Church depends on your mailing, dropping off, setting up
direct pay from your banking institution and online donations to continue our ministry. We prayerfully
invite you to give what you can in any way that that you can sign up for eGiving from your computer,
smartphone or tablet and set up a recurring donation or make a one-time gift. Sign up today by visiting
www.faithdirect.net or download the mobile app. Thank you for your continued support of our parish
family.
Dear Parishioners….In order to make Masses happen, we are required to sanitize the pews after every Mass.
If you are looking for an opportunity for Grace, and are able to help with this project, please call the
rectory 330-745-0011 and get on the schedule, we will need four participants for weekend Masses and two
for daily Masses. Buckets, gloves, rags and sanitizers will be provided. In addition, when coming to Mass,
remember to observe the six foot distancing, please fill the pews from the front of the church back,
therefore we will only have to sanitize the pews that have been sat in. When we are all over the church,
then all pews will have to be sanitized. Thank you for your help in this matter…together we will get through
this.
The Pandemic Center will close on May 28th and our traditional center will re-
open on June 1st.
There are health and safety protocols to take place and your safety is our number one concern. The
number of children that we will be able to serve has been reduced as we follow Covid19 guidelines.
Please know that our dedicated staff will continue to put your best interest first as you place your
children in our care.
If you will be returning, we need to hear from you by Friday, May 22nd.
Please continue to pray for our child care providers and teachers as they continue to serve others in
this uncertain time.
