Installation and Setup
Installation and Setup of Uncertainty Sidekick is simple. Just insert the Setup CD. The setup screen should show automatically.
If this does not occur, double-click the file named AutoRun.exe on the CD.
Uncertainty Sidekick should be installed and fully functional following completion of the installation.

Installed Items
The following files are installed in the Uncertainty Sidekick folder and subfolders:
Uncertainty Sidekick Folder
Sidekick.exe - The Uncertainty Sidekick program.
Measurement Units.mdb - The Uncertainty Sidekick measurement units database.
Help Subfolder
Sidekick.hlp - The Uncertainty Sidekick on-screen Help file.
Sidekick.cnt - The Help file contents.
Examples Subfolder
Three Uncertainty Sidekick analysis files that illustrate uncertainty analysis principles and the use of Uncertainty Sidekick.
Uncertainty Analysis Overview Subfolder
Intro to Uncertainty Analysis - An Adobe Acrobat file of a presentation given on the principles and methods of uncertainty
analysis.
User Manual Subfolder
Sidekick User Manual.pdf - The Uncertainty Sidekick User Manual in Adobe Acrobat format.

Uncertainty Sidekick Video Recommendation

For best results, the video resolution for Uncertainty Sidekick should be 1024 x 768 or better. We also recommend a 16-bit or
24-bit color palette. If you are running Windows 9x, NT4 or 2000, selecting Large Fonts from your Display Settings is
recommended. If you are running Windows XP, we recommend a screen resolution of 120 DPI.
Instructions for changing Display Settings can be found in Windows on-screen Help.

Minor Changes
Because of our commitment to keeping Uncertainty Sidekick up-to-date and user-friendly, we make changes as new uncertainty
analysis methods become available and in response to user requests.
Because of this, you may notice minor differences between what you see in the program shipped to you and what is presented
in the User Manual. In addition, we place free updates for download from our web site on an approximately monthly basis. You
may see differences between the updates and the user documentation in the shipped product.
If so, you will find updated documentation in Uncertainty Sidekick’s on-screen Help.
