(The Monroe Institute Bulletin – Fall 1985)

NEW NAME - NEW STATUS

Some of our more observant readers may have noticed a change in the masthead of our
bulletin. We are no longer the Monroe Institute of Applied Sciences (MIAS), but simply The
Monroe Institute®. The name change is significant because, at long last, our Educational/
Research Division has been granted non-profit status. The Monroe Institute will continue to
offer educational programs such as the GATEWAY VOYAGE®, GUIDELINES®, GATEWAY
EXPERIENCE®, and the GATEWAY OUTREACH (GO) program. Its other primary focus is in
the laboratory - with continued research and development of human consciousness.

The non-profit status of The Monroe Institute allows for certain tax advantages, but more
important, it will mean a greater likelihood of receiving major funding and/or research grants. It
also means the Institute may accept your tax-deductible donations.

As a result of the Institute’s new status, a separate company will produce and sell most of our
Hemi-Sync tapes, books, and the Hemi-Sync Synthesizer. Interstate Industries, Inc. (Ill) is the
name of that company (for those of you who haven’t read FAR JOURNEYS yet, the products
of this company are designed to get you out of “local traffic” and on to the interstate highway of
human potential). Our educational tapes (such as the DISCOVERY album and the rest of the
GATEWAY EXPERIENCE albums) are available from The Monroe Institute. In fact, all of our
products may still be ordered through the Institute.

We are confident the non-profit status of The Monroe Institute will assist us in our goal of
constructively changing Man’s direction and destiny through focused consciousness. We
appreciate your support of that goal in the past, and look forward to your continuing support of
that goal, financially and otherwise.

Hemi-Sync® is a registered trademark of Interstate Industries, Inc.
