Hello This side Vaibhav today I w

My first strength today is the fact that I agree that time management capabilities will surely
help me navigate a globally divergent workforce. In my past organization, I was solely
responsible for the company sales department, and as a result, I have many responsibilities
that keep my schedule packed.

From managing a team of employees to closing new sales leads and parallelly looking for new
marketing opportunities, at the same time, I was juggling with multiple projects at once.

But I have put my time management skills into play, and by doing this, I always ensured that I
maximize my time and accomplish company goals by prioritization of work, a delegation of tasks,
better decision making and multitasking. Which I believe are core skills required to effectively
manage your time.

.As a sales leader, I have always concentrated on time management, and I don't think a
manager can successfully accomplish results if he can't handle the tight deadlines. Here I
would like to highlight what I read in week one readin.....stated by  Kaplan (2007)  that
leaders need to better manage their time to become more productive and focus on what's is
most important, which I agree with. However, here I want to talk about my real-life example;
in the past, at times I get overburdened with stakeholder meetings and tasks, which was
actually not possible to do within the given time realistically speaking. Especially in these
situations, I believe in discussing with my senior management as there is no harm in buying
more time as i don't believe that more hours of work on the same day will always result in
more productivity.

My 2nd strength I want to highlight today is self-assessment which according has helped me
to come this far in life. The same is stated by Kaplan (2007)in week 1 readings that…..it is
wise to go through a self-assessment, to periodically step back from the bustle of running a
business and ask some critical questions of yourself."

One thing I would like to add here as well, as Ibarra (2015) said that leadership should be
taught in a way that is convenient to an individual and helpful to an organisation. Which I
believe is true but leadership skills cannot be copied , but in the past I was was keen in
leading new tricks and tactics from my role model so I believe in taking a feedback from my
role model managers, which has definitely helped me to build my workable leadership style.

Now I will talk about my two underdeveloped abilities which I believe was easy in an initial
stage but I was wrong.

My 1st stretch which I believe is going to be really helpful for me in a long run is to have more
engagement with the team mates and people around me. I have seen good leaders engage
more often with the employees and it also helps in controlling negative behaviour. It is also
explained in week 1 readings by Jen Su & Wilkins (2014) that it is vital for a manager to have
a communication with it team members and even non-verbal communication plays an
essential role in leadership. I want to discuss about my last organisation here, I experienced
that team engagement is essential for the company success especially in the start-up
culture, when you are looking for someone on your team to replace you as a manager then
only you can replace someone above you and the organisation grows.

My second stretch was well described by Dhiman in a week 1 reading that people are afraid
of exploring beyond their comfort zone which I am also find it difficult most of the times.
When I re-think about my past job, I always take initiative on projects which I know or which I
have done in the past,vice-versa, I try my best to not intervene myself on the tasks which I
believe is not my cup of tea.

Goals

1 Be a Better Communicator"

Communication is such a broad area. Think about all the types of communication you engage
in throughout the day. Verbal conversations with clients about deliverables. Emails to your
work team with announcements and updates. Questions you ask in meetings. The list goes on.

To make this goal more specific, think about what it looks like when the communication
transpires. What kind of communication is it – verbal or written? Who is the audience? What
kind of information is being communicated?

Yes, I agree that Personal mastery is useful when you know what you want to
master and by Setting a vision for your life and career gives you a sense of direction.
