Challenges of Entrepreneur
“Since childhood, Navin Ahmed was not a very confident person, and to add to that, she
wasn’t a very good student as well. But she was always interested and loved to doing Art.
Then she decided to do something that included art. Then she plan to go to abroad and
study on Art. But it was not so easy for her because her family was not so supportive for
the decision. But she takes the challenge and makes it prove. She did a two year extensive
diploma course at the Sheridan College on Cosmetic Techniques and Management and
later went to York University, and after finishing that she returned to Bangladesh. At first
she started to job on school as a teacher but she try to continue the makeover beside the
job. When she started her Makeover Studio she faced to new challenges, her style of
make-up was completely different than the ones traditional parlors used to offer at that
time, Navin always thought it would be quite difficult for her when she first started off.
But she overcomes from this situation. Now she is a big entrepreneur in these industries.
Motivation of Entrepreneur
From being someone who was doubtful about her future, to becoming the most influential person
in the makeup industry, Navin Ahmed’s story is a truly inspirational one.
Since childhood, she was not a very confident person, and to add to that, I wasn’t a very good
student as well. However, art was something that she was always interested in and genuinely
loved doing. In fact, during her O levels  scored the second highest marks in the world in the
subject, and that's what gave her the confidence to decide she can do something that included art.
So initially, her plan was to go abroad and study art, since she was good at it. But along the
way, make-up was also another thing that fascinated her the most. She would also do make-up on
her friends, cousins and other family members, and that was also something which brought out
the inner artist in her. Her best friend, who lived in Canada at that time, suggested her to look
into a course that taught make-up artistry. That is where it all began,” says Navin, while
discussing what motivated her to get a professional training in this field.

Before starting her business she did a two year extensive diploma course at the Sheridan College
on Cosmetic Techniques and Management and later went to York University. After finishing that
she returned to Bangladesh and in 2011 she started Gala Makeover studio and began to do
makeup professionally. Women, who understood the right kind of application techniques and
preferred authentic brands being used on them, went for her because she thinks that's not
something a lot of people would find in parlors those days. That was a positive thing that helps
her to achieve success. That is something she started off with and have been doing for nearly 10
years now and it has always been her signature style. They have lots of loyal customer who are
the regular customer. They have lots of services but specially they targeted bride which is
include wedding, holud, engagement, normal party makeup and also other services. Upper class
and upper middle class peoples are there target customer. Their service and products quality
price is high and makeup start from 3000. So everybody can't effort it. Now they are very
successful and popular in this field. They get a huge success and earn a lot. Because of those
successes they start their new business like gala cosmetics and also start a restaurant.
What do they want to do next future?
The female makeup artist and beauty bloggers powered by social media one name that
revolutionized the industry stands tall as the pioneer of settle but classy bridal makeup in
Bangladesh Navin Ahmed. As the new name of make through only social media platforms to the
power of creative content. After 10 years commutating with very glance scolding through
facebook, instagram and gathering from a small studio at Gala house at November 2, 2017.
Today Gala Makeover studio and salon by Navin Ahmed employees over 30 specialized people.

In her own words, being an entrepreneur in Bangladesh has been eye-opener for Navin. Since her
style of makeup was completely different than the ones traditional parlors used to offer at that
time. Her advices that she give to all her brides- to go for such a look which will make them feel
like they made the right choice, even when they look at their photos 10 or 20 years later.”
Navin’s advice to budding beauty entrepreneurs would be- “Follow your dreams and be
confident it is essential to acquire training when you want to excel at something. The entire
process of applying make-up on someone, whether she is doing it on herself or her clients are
what entices Navin the most.” The Face is like a canvas for me, and I feel like it brings out the
inner artist in me. Navin Ahmed want her business to be the top listed- The business of freelance
hair and markup was virtually- sizes and floor plans while bringing a sense of stability to the
area’s future that hopefully bigger, long side better after 10 years

Gala Makeover- Future Challenges


When the founder Navin Ahmed came back in the country and started the gala makeover,
unintentionally she also started the trend of the bridal look with minimal use of high end
makeup. And grabbing the oncoming trend many entrepreneurs now started to open their own
private makeup studio. Day by day the number of private studio is increasing. Comparing to the
gala makeover those studio charges significantly less prices. Those are the actual threat for the
business. Also the all the individual makeup artist who works under the founder, Navin Ahmed,
might decide to start their own business rather than working under someone else. as it’s very
easy to enter the beauty industry, the openness to entry will always be a threat to the gala
makeover. But to overcome all these threat, Navin Ahmed tries to step ahead of everyone by
providing high end customer service to satisfy customer and to turn them into a loyal customer.
Because of ultimately customers are the main focus.
