Rising mains, Delivery chambers and Canal distribution network.

2.0 SCOPE:

This note deals with ‘General layout of Gated intake structure’ of Prakasha Burai Lift
Irrigation Scheme.

3.0 SALIENT FEATURES:

As per approved general layout of Prakasha Burai Lift Irrigation Scheme, vide marathi
letter by TIDC, Jalgaon vide letter no. ----------------------, Dt. X / Y /2016.
The salient features of Intake structure of Prakasha Burai Lift Irrigation Scheme along
with important control levels are as below.
1. Pier top : 122.000 m
2. H.F.L. : 120.000 m
3. F.R.L. : 111.000 m
4. M.D.D.L. : 104.000 m
5. Sill Level : 103.000 m
6. Foundation Level : 98.300 m

The approach Channel section from Tapi to gated structure is adopted as per the
approved section by C.E. (TIDC), Jalgaon vide Marathi letter No. ------, dated:-----------
The approach channel is of total length is ----- m, its bed width is vary from ----- m &
reverse bed slope is 1:2500 is proposed as per the approved general layout.

5.0 : GATED INTAKE STRUCTURE:

Two side abutment piers having length 11.50 m & width 3.80 m for first 4.55 m length &
1.50 m for last 2.75 m length & inside middle portion having slope 27 0 for length 4.20m-
are proposed at the start of fore-bay structure. The piers are proposed in M-20
concrete. The counter fort type wing walls are also proposed to retain the earthwork for
approaches to gated structure. The RCC details of Intake structure will be submitted in
due course.

parameters approved in standing committee meeting held on 14/10/2014 & BCL
of the scheme vetted by CDO vide letter no. CDO/PH-2/prakasha burai
LIS/52/298, dated: 11/03/2015. So Safe bearing capacity of strata (R.L. 99.30 m)
is --- T/m2. Hence the foundation of intake structure is proposed at R.L. 99.30 m.
The S.B.C. should be ascertained before laying of foundation concrete.

5.2 M10 Rifill : RCC M-20 footing having size 12m x 10.5 m & thikness 1.0m
rested on M10 refill.

6.0 : LOCATION OF GATES:

Trash rack and service gate are proposed in the gated structure at starting point of
forebay with stem rod arrangement. At this location approach channel ends and inner
forebay strats.

7.0 TRASH RACK PANAL:

One trash rack are proposed of size of panel 3.30 m x 8.30 m. will be sufficient for
given discharge. The slot size of 300x300 mm is proposed for trash rack panel. Hence
single trash rack panel is proposed instead of multiple trash rack panel for economy &
maintenance point of view. Details drawing of trash rack will be issued separately.

8.0 SERVICE GATES :

One Service gate are proposed having opening size i.e. 3.3 m. x 4.00 m. The 586 mm
x 329 mm size gate slots are proposed for Service gate. A stem rod arrangement is
proposed at top of intake slab floor.
However a service gate is approved for this intake structure. The S.G. will be be remain
under water even in fully open condition, due to this sealing, rollers of S.G. will require
frequents maintenance & repairs. This point should be considered while approving the
drawing.

in between abutments having total length 10.40m. The minimum thickness of wall 350
mm is proposed for first 6.40 m & 600 mm for last 4.0 m. R.C.C. M-20 breast wall is
designed for water pressure from one side (Wet side only). The R.C.C. details of
Breast wall will be furnished separately.

10.0 BEAM BELOW BREAST WALL :-

The bottom beam below breast wall of S.G. having 4300 mm depth & 600 mm thick,
have been designed as a beam spanning in between two pier with fixity at ends. The
beam is design for the dead weight of the breast wall. The details of reinforcement are
will be furnished separately.
