Group Assignment: Group Written Report (15% of your final grade)


Instructions:
1. Kindly divide the class into eleven (11) groups.
2. Each group should have, as much as possible, equal number of members.
3. Class is given the discretion to decide the manner of selecting the members of each
group.
4. Each group shall prepare a written report on the ff:
4.1. Group 1: Republic Act (RA) 7277, as amended by RA Nos. 9442, 10070, and
10524
4.2. Group 2: RA 7610, as amended by RA Nos. 7658 and 9232
4.3. Group 3: RA 9710
4.4. Group 4: RA 9262
4.5. Group 5: RA 7877
4.6. Group 6: RA 7432, as amended by RA Nos. 9257, 9994, and 10645;
4.7. Group 7: RA 9679
4.8. Group 8: RA 7875, as amended by RA Nos. 9241 and 10606;
4.9. Group 9: RA 8282
4.10. Group 10: RA 1146, as amended by 8291
4.11. Group 11: RA 7699 and RA 6948

5. Focus on the salient features of the law that are relevant to our subject.
6. Integrate in your report all relevant decisions of the Supreme Court involving the law
assigned to the group.
7. Follow the following format:
7.1. Each group’s written report should not exceed thirty (30) pages. This is for strict
compliance..
7.2. Spacing- single; font- Times New Roman; font size- 12; paper size- short;
margins- normal. This is for strict compliance.
7.3. Use a question and answer format.
7.4. The following basic questions, if applicable, must be present and answered in
each group’s report:
a.) Summary of the law;
b.) What is/are the policy/ies behind, or purpose/s, of the law?
c.) What is the coverage/scope of the law?
d.) Who are the intended beneficiaries of the law?
e.) What are the benefits enjoyed by, or what are the protections afforded to, the covered
beneficiaries?
f.) What are the requirements in order to avail or, or to continue enjoy, the intended
benefits?
g.) What is the procedure to be followed in order to avail of the intended benefits or
protections?
h.) What are the obligations of the beneficiaries?
i.) What/who are the other stakeholders and their respective obligations? (i.e. in SSS
Law, the employers and their respective obligations)
j.) What are the penalties, if any, for violations of the provisions of the law?
7.5. You can modify the questions above if necessary for a better presentation of your
report.
7.6. Do not limit your presentation to the above-enumerated questions/topics.
7.7. There must be a table of contents for each written report.
7.8. Always indicate/cite your sources correctly.

8. Allot five to ten (5-10) pages of your written report for the discussion of the gist of all
Supreme Court decisions involving the law assigned to you.
9. Draft (soft copy) of the written report should be submitted to me on 15 May 2020. Please

10. Submission of the printed written report will be upon resumption of classes. Each group
should also furnish each member of the class with a soft copy of the written report.

Individual Assignment: Bill on Social Justice (15% of your final grade)

Instructions:
1. Survey all existing social legislation.
2. Based on your survey, determine a vulnerable or marginalized sector of the society which
remains unprotected or inadequately protected.
3. What social reforms should be introduced for the protection or betterment of the
vulnerable or marginalized sector you previously determined.
4. Draft a bill introducing the social reforms you identified.
5. Provide an explanatory note for the bill you drafted.
6. You will be graded based on the novelty and soundness of your proposal (40%); the
adequacy/completeness of your bill and its consistency with the Constitution (30%); the social
relevance of your bill (15%), and the manner of your presentation or form (15%).
7. Submit a printed copy of your bill upon resumption of classes.
