MIDTERM TEST

Scenario Present about teaching the Simple Present Tense to fourth grade student

Here, I will make the scenario based on Vgotsky theory.

Warming Up:

1. Teacher prepares the student to great (“ let’s make line student please”)
2. Teacher asks the student to entering the classroom one by one.
Then the student entering the classroom and sit based on their table.
3. Teacher give greeting to the student “Assalamualaikum, good morning students? How
are you? Who is absent today?”
4. Teacher asks students to pray before study. “Before we start, let’s pray together”
All of the student pray together.
5. The teacher takes out some pictures that will be used as learning media.
- The first picture the student that is study in the class
- The second picture is about waking habit of children in the morning.

Before explaining the picture, the teacher first provokes student to conduct question and
answer or interaction related to simple present material.

“okay today we will learn about simple present tense, did you ever or know about that?”

“ not yet miss.”

“ Okay I will give you the question “ Dony, what time you wake up every day?”

“ I always wake up at 5 A.M. miss”

“ That is a good habit dony. Okay my student that is the first example of simple present
tense. So, simple presnt tense explains about habits. Did you understand until here?”

“ Yes miss”
Main Activity:

1. The teacher asks the student “ do you know the meaning of simple present tense?
Simple present tense explain the current or present event, about habit, and frequency.
What is frequency? Frequency is the event that we usually or often do. Example
(always, often etc)
2. The teacher shows simple present tense on the board.
“ This is the rule in simple present tense. What is subject in English? Subject in
English there are seven. That is ( I, You, We , They, She, He, and It). Next, we will
distinguish verbs or to be that start with the subject. Look at the board:
I = AM
You, We, They = Are
She, He, It = Is
This is the sample of sentence “ I am reading now”
Did you understand?

3. The teacher asks the students to write the sentence with a simple present tense pattern
like the example of the board.
4. The students are asked to check the verb or to be on the board carefully.
5. Then, the teacher guides students to justify verbs in the form of simple present tense.
6. The teacher start use the picture for explaining the material and sometime asks the
student to material.
“ Okay guys let’s see the picture now! What do you think about the picture?”
“ The picture is about the student that is study like us. So, we can conclude simple
present explain about the present event. “
“ then the next picture tell about the wake habits of person, it is include to simple
present tense”
7. Teacher give a game about simple present tense to develop the knowledge of the
student. Games contain the rule of simple present tense and definition. The student
divided into some group. Then, the losing group will be punished by singing in front
of the class.

Closing
1. The teacher gives conclusions from the material “ Okay my student that is about simple
present tense, just remember simple present tense explain the present event”
2. The teacher gives homework
3. The teacher gives appreciation and motivation to student.
4. The teacher greeting the student.
