A liberal professor at Columbia University was recently charged with having a three year
sexual affair with his grown daughter.

That professor also taught at Harvard and Stanford, was often quoted by left wing news
media and wrote on the far left web site Huffington Post. At this point, the liberals have
not yet gotten around to changing the laws on incest, so he was charged in New York
with one count of felony incest.

This university professor is forty-six years old. His daughter was over eighteen when the
father-daughter sex acts began. They continued with that behavior for three years before
stopping and she is now twenty-four. Although the daughter was of legal age and agreed
to the acts, the New York law does not have an age limit on incest nor does it matter if
the incest is agreed on by both parties. The act itself is illegal, as sodomy formerly was in
different states.

An article in the Columbia Spectator talked about the professor's marriage to another
Columbia professor.

"Other couples, like professor Sharyn O’Halloran and her husband professor David
Epstein, work closely in the same field—in their case, political science. The two have
co-authored many of their works. “Our complementary skills lead to a great
partnership,” she said. This collaboration is present in their home as well, where,
according to O’Halloran, an economist, they “split household chores along
comparative advantage and our marginal rates of productivity are maximized at
every turn.”"

Well, the partnership wasn't that great, after all. Notice that this married couple had
different last names while they were married. And they have different last names now,
too, that they're not married. The two got to know each other in the 1980's while doing
post-grad work at Stanford. It was said on one site that the girl is not her daughter.
Earlier this year, MacKenzie Phillips released a book where she said that she had a
decade long sexual affair with her father. She, too, was married. She is an actress and
was in the hit sitcom One Day at a Time. Her father was John Phillips, who began the
pop singing group The Mamas and the Papas, which did the song "California
Dreaming."

When people do such things as incest for such an extended period of time, they have to
view their behavior as morally acceptable. The Columbian professor and his daughter,
according to the police, often sent each other "twisted text messages." It does seem,
then, that they viewed their actions as acceptable moral behavior

How could people view such actions as morally acceptable?

If you have the life view that there is no god and there is no sin, other than condemning
sin.

Here are some comments left on the news story.

"I say just as long as they are doing proper family planning (that is, various forms of
birth control) to make sure they do not produce an offspring, which would be high-risk
for a myriad of genetic disorders, I see no crime."

"Gross? Yes. But, sometimes – especially in a free republic – you have to put aside
universal morality and just let people live their lives. We are no longer a Puritan
society."

"Apparently it's an issue between consenting adults. I'm not sure on what principles
the charges would be, considering that law would have to arbitrarily override
individual liberty of consenting adults. They do it already with prostitutes and their
patrons, but consenting adults should not be charged with crimes for what they agree
to do."

The liberal thinking is that people should be able to do whatever they want to do. Once
y0u remove the anchor of God's word, you are adrift in a sea of human reason. Once you
establish the principle that humans determine their own morals, there is no limit to
what they can do.

God puts limits on what people should do.

Lev 20:10-17 World English Bible

(10) " 'The man who commits adultery with another man's wife, even he who commits
adultery with his neighbor's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to
death.
(11) The man who lies with his father's wife has uncovered his father's nakedness: both
of them shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

(12) " 'If a man lies with his daughter-in-law, both of them shall surely be put to death:
they have committed a perversion; their blood shall be upon them.

(13) " 'If a man lies with a male, as with a woman, both of them have committed an
abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

(14) " 'If a man takes a wife and her mother, it is wickedness: they shall be burned with
fire, both he and they; that there may be no wickedness among you.

(15) " 'If a man lies with an animal, he shall surely be put to death; and you shall kill the
animal.

(16) " 'If a woman approaches any animal, and lies down with it, you shall kill the
woman, and the animal: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon
them.

(17) " 'If a man takes his sister, his father's daughter, or his mother's daughter, and sees
her nakedness, and she sees his nakedness; it is a shameful thing; and they shall be cut
off in the sight of the children of their people: he has uncovered his sister's nakedness;
he shall bear his iniquity.

All of this sin is where the western world is going. They want no restraints whatsoever
on their actions. When humans are unrestrained, they go down, not up. This is true in
childrearing and it is true in societies. Everything that God forbade in the verses just
cited is where America is headed. We are already far down that road, but we have
farther to go, and we are getting there.

The basis of this is the simple declaration, 'There is no god.'

Psa 14:1
(1) The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt. They have done
abominable works. There is none who does good.

Psa 53:1
(1) The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, and have done
abominable iniquity. There is no one who does good.

This type of society starts with the education of the young based on the premise that
there is no god. First the schools became violent and vile. Now the whole nation turns
that way. It is truly astounding that Christians send their children into such an
education system whose whole foundation and purpose is to teach that there is no god.
If a fool says, "There is no god," what is a person who knows better and still supports
that thinking, by submitting the hearts and lives of their children to it?
