loop.

2.2 August 16, 2010

Feature & Errata update

1. Added ability to hide non-flowing/discharging pipes and nodes in the

calculation results window.

2. New file menu item "copy properties from" copies file properties from
an existing file to the current file.

3. Report footer now includes SHC version number. Pipe information section
now contains a statement about water flow direction.

European "EN 12845" mode available on calculations page of the file

properties dialog which enables the following:

1. Replaces minimum discharge parameter in "Head" and "Flow" commands

with a sprinkler head area parameter.

2. New command "Density" for specifying required sprinkler head discharge

in user selectable depth/minute unit.

3. Optional minimum head pressure parameter on new "Density" command for

preventing small coverage area heads from discharging below minimum
required pressures.

4. New most unfavorable adjacent four heads analysis in hydraulic

calculation report.

5. New command "FourHeads" for specifying the 1 to 4 most remote adjacent

sprinkler heads (when SHC does not select adjacent heads properly).

6. New command "Favourable" modifies "Autopeak" behaviour to find most

favourable area.

7. Additional node information (area, required density, density) in the

calculation results window and hydraulic calculation report.

Fixed:

1. Changing to another file from a current file using dxf import no longer
causes an access error.

2. Genereal dxf importing stability improvements.

3. Report Preview/Print range error when using "Autopeak" with "Drop".

4. Flow diagram could mislabel "drop" node names.

Changes:

1. Proposals for elevation parameters are no longer based on values

past the closest previous blank line.

2. The velocity entry in the report's "comprehensive pressure summary"

now shows velocity units.

2.3 April 29, 2011

Feature & Errata update

1. SHC Editor will now quickly change selected "Node" commands to "Head"
and vice versa. Menu items for this functionality has been added to
the "Edit"->"Change" menu.

2. SHC Editor will now quickly comment and uncomment selected lines.
Menu item for this functionality has been added to the
"Edit"->"Change" menu.

3. Convergence with Colebrook and Serghide friction factor equations has

been improved by using cubic spline interpolation for 2000 < Re < 3500.
See "Reference Manual" for equation documentation.

4. SHC now adjusts for velocity pressures (when used) regardless of a

pipe's flow direction. VB will adjust for pressure at the start node.
VE will adjust for pressure at the end node.

5. SHC will now allow data files that fail SHC's strict convergence test
to pass with a relaxed maximum unbalance requirement if calculated
unbalance is the only issue causing calculation failure.

6. Items #3, #4, and #5, taken together, measurably increase SHC's
calculation convergence success rate.
7. Nominal size text entity detection has been improved for DXF file
importing.

Fixed:

1. Insert menu macro language incorrectly parsed as "0" variables used

for minimum discharge parameters in a "PUT" command.

2. SHC could fail to preview or print the hydraulic calculation report

for files that defined an equivalent k-factor that was not used
in the data file.

2.3.1 October 24, 2011

maintenance update

1. Fixed inaccurate elevation pressure section in the demand pie graph

(menu item "View" -> "Demand Graph").

2. New warning highlighter colors values that SHC suspects may be in error
even when the value is technically valid. These warnings will not
prevent calculation.

3. Fixed typo in "insert.txt" file description of Watts 709 BFP's

(new installs only).

4. Improved convergence characteristics for source calculations with steep

water source supply curves.

5. Added file properties for overriding SHC Options of "System Designer" and
"Company". (See menu item "File" -> "Properties", "Project" tab.)

2.3.2 November 28, 2011

maintenance update

1. Fixed Pe unit conversion oversight in demand pie graph (menu item "View"
-> "Demand Graph") for mixed US & SI units files.

2. SHC no longer displays an erroneous warning when units are changed for
a file that uses equivalent k-factors.

3. In the hydraulic graph, the demand line's base point is now properly
adjusted for relative elevation difference to the water source when
the base of riser node name is not entered or is invalid.

4. The "Popup Helper" no longer suggests the wrong parameter type when
editing within a command line.

2.3.3 November 9, 2012

maintenance update

1. SHC's editor now allows "ChangePipe" commands to edit the extra pipes
created by the "Main" command when extra nodes are inserted.

2. Corrected "Loop System" example file (Pipe "L2" length error).

3. Corrected cryptic error message when "HeadCopy" or "NodeCopy" command's

source node could not be found.

4. Corrected dxf update error that could occure when updating from a DXF
source file that itself has been updated.

5. Corrected the insert menu's comment for Watts 709 backflow preventers.
Existing installations of SHC will not be updated, however, to
prevent overwriting user defined insert menu items.

2.3.4 May 12, 2014

maintenance update

1. The SHC editor no longer warning highlights ELO heads with a minimum
discharge pressure less than 10 psi. All heads now warn for minimum
discharge pressures less than 7 psi.

on a solution.

3. Corrected a reporting error in the "Supply Analysis" section when using

multiple water sources.

4. "Supply Analysis" section of report will add a line indicating total

source flow when multiple water sources are used.

5. The report's summary page entry "Total water required" now references the
supply analysis section when there are multiple water sources.

2.3.5 October 13, 2015

maintenance update

1. Corrected a report errata that could cause a criptic "List" error under
certain circumstances.

2. Fixed a "divide by zero" editor error when a zero k-factor was entered.
Zero k-factors will now shut off a head's discharge. ("Head" commands
only, not "Flow" commands.)

3. Fixed a demand graph error which occured when the water source has
negative head pressure.

2.3.6 November 10, 2017

maintenance update

1. Percent of water source pressure safety margin is now included on the

summary page.
