FINDING YOUR LIFE PURPOSE

In life, one of the biggest questions I have asked myself is: does every person have a
purpose in its life? We could say that every person has dreams or desires, however, many
times there are obstacles, drawbacks, or issues that might get in our ways. It is not always
possible to accomplish the future we had in mind when we were kids, but we must always
try. The major key is to set and achieve specific goals and objectives, through them attain
results to keep motivated and ease our way to move forward. Meaningful and long-term goals
developed in life can set purposes and provide healthy environments.

Many people wonder about how it is going to be their future, they just like to take it
as something in their imagination or a non-important issue that is going to manifest later.
They do not even plan it and just keep the decision in the hand of destiny, time, or god. Even
though this is not completely bad, you are likely to make decisions that could affect your
wish. It is important to dream, to desire ambitious things, but be sure not to cross the line. For
instance, it is almost impossible to climb the Everest mountain for an asthmatic person, you
must be conscious of your weaknesses and take advantage of your proficiencies. The better
way to accomplish a goal is to struggle arduous having an objective in mind. The unrealistic
or unbelievable the aim, the sooner you have to start, so you know each decision you take is
going to drive you one step forward to succeed in your purpose.

A research made in 2013 by Maryam Hedayati and Mahmoud Khazaei showed the
strong relationship between health issues such as depression, anxiety, hopelessness, and life
dissatisfaction with a life purpose. Meaning in life could be a chronic, basic need, besides
depression is a major health disorder directly related. Depression is a common illness that
includes negative symptoms in mood, body, behavior, loss of energy, and interest. These
symptoms can vary from mild to severe in different cases. The absence of a life purpose or a
meaning in life can significantly affect mood and can trigger depressive tendencies due to the
lack of specific interest or goal to accomplish, which makes people lose interest in living.

A person without a goal or a life purpose can resemble an arrow without a target: it
just flows wherever the wind might take it and lose its way, besides that, our life purpose is
essential to maintain our path and give a reason for living, preventing health issues such as
depression. That is why it is so important to set life goals, especially meaningful ones. With
hurdles, we can discover hidden strengths or abilities we don't know we have and that will
probably help us to achieve our goals and also develop ourselves.
