Video “Expressing a point of view”

A. What to do?

Record a video expressing to what extend you agree or disagree with Dan Pink’s
view on motivation using the present perfect, phrasal verbs, and other functions
practiced in this learning activity.

B. How to do it?

1. Click on the video The surprising truth about what motivates us

necessary and take notes. If there is any word you don’t understand, go to
www.wordreference.com and look it up.

2. Read your notes, decide if you agree or disagree with his position, and record a
video expressing your opinion.

Sample

I don’t agree with his opinion. I have had many different jobs in my life and
the most important factor has always been money. For money, people get up
earlier, work out harder, and are able to do the impossible. You need money
if you want to take care of your family. When I am looking for a job, I always
think about the salary first. I have had many different jobs where the pay has
been good and the work has been repetitive and monotonous. This is not a
problem for me. I am good at learning anything. I just need the right
incentive. In my case, this incentive is money.
My script

Hello, considering the video, I think that money is a very important


part of the job motivation, I think if we have a good salary we will
feel motivated to do things every day better, everything is done
and bought with money, food, rent, gasoline for the car, our
children's school, clothes, among others, are clear examples of
everything that revolves around money and without it we could
not even feed ourselves, I am a follower of what they say greater
payment better performance. Something I agree with the author of
the video is that we can be entrepreneurs and create our own
business, so we can work hard without thinking that we are
enriching another with our work and we will be motivated to get
ahead our company and make a lot of money with own business.
