The design ofthis product contains speci! hardware and many circuits and components specially for safety purposes. For continued protection, no changes should be made to the original design unioss authorized in wring by the manufacturer. Replacement parts ‘must be identical to thase used in the orginal circus. Service should be performed by qualified personnel only. 2. Alterations of the design or circuitry ofthe product should not be made. Any design alterations ofthe product should not be made. Any design alterations or adltione will vold the manufacture's wavranty and wil further reiove the manufacture of responsibilty for personal Injury oF property damage resulting thoretrom. ‘3. Many electrical and mechanical parts in the products have special safety — related characteristics. These charactorstics are ofton not evident from vieualinepection nor can the protection afforded by them necessarily be obtained by using replacement components rated for higher voltage, wattage, etc. Replacement parts which have these special safety characteristics are Kentiied in the Parts List of Service Manual, Electrical components having such features are identilod by shading on the schomatic and by ( A Jon the Parts st in the Service Manual, The use of a substtute replacement which does not have the same safely characteristics as the recommended replacement part shown in the Parts List of Service Manual may create shock fre, or other hazards. 4. The leads in the products are routed and dressed wit ties, clamps. tubings, barters and the lke to be separated from Ive parts, high temperature pats, moving parts and for sharp edges forthe prevention of electric shock and fre hazard, When service is required, the original lead routing and dress should be observed, and it should be confimmad that they have been returned to normal, alter reassembling 5. Leakage current chack (Electicl shock hazard testing) ‘ter reassembling the product, always perform an isolation check on the exposed metal parts of the product (antenna terminals knobs, metal cabinet, screw heads, headphone jack. control shafts, etc) to be sure the product i safe to operate without danger of real hock. Do not use a line isolation transformer during this check + Plug the AC line cord directly into the AC outlet, Using a “Leakage current tester, measure the leakage current from each exposed metal part ofthe cabinet, particulary any exposed motal part having a retum path tothe chassis, oa known good earth ground. Any leakage currant must not exceed 0.5mA AC(«m.s), “ACVOLTMETER + Alternate check method 7} | (Having 1000 ohmsivott, | lug the AC line cord directly into the AC outlet. Uso an AC voltmeter ‘Ormore sensietey-) having, 1.000 ohms per volt or more sensitivity inthe following manner. Connect a 1,500 ohms 10W resistor paralloled by a 0.15 11 F AC type capacior between an exposed metal part and a known good earth Ground, Measure the AC voltage across the resistor with the AC volimeter. Move the resistor connection to each exposed metal par, particulary any exposed metal part having a return path tothe chassis, ‘and measure the AC voltage across the resistor. Now, reverse the plug inthe AC outlet and repeat each measurement. Any voltage meatured must not exceed 0.75V AC{rm.s.)This corresponds o 0.5mA AC(ram-.). 0.15 nF ACTYPE Place this probe | fon ech exposed 15008 10W ‘metal part Good earth ground Warning 1. Thie equipment has beon designed and manufactured to meet international safety standards. 2. isthe lagal responsibilty ofthe repairer to ensure that these safoly standards are maintained, 3, Repairs must be made in accordance with the relevant safety standards. 4, tis essential that safety ertical components are replaced by approved parts. 5.
