RIDA qLine® Soft/RLink autoBlot/RLink LIS-ASTM - Installation

RIDA qLine® Soft is a software-package for analysis and administration of patient- samples as well as
communication with the laboratory own LIS. In this context, RIDA qLine® Soft is the proper GUI for the
user. RLink autoBlot is a software component that controls and documents the communication between
RIDA qLine® autoBlot and RIDA qLine® Soft. In the case of trouble with sample requests or analysis,
usually they can be followed up in the dialog field of RLink autoBlot. RLink LIS-ASTM is another
software component responsible for communication between RIDA qLine® Soft and laboratory own LIS.

Previous installation

Previous installation, following points should be clarified:

• The operating software of the PC must be Microsoft Windows 7 or higher, the software is Microsoft
Windows 10 compatible
• Should the system be connected with LIS?
• How many devices are installed? The serial number(s) must be present.
• Which installation model is used? (local-/network installation)
 local: RIDA qLine® Soft including database are installed on C:\
 network: The database installation is independent of the PC on a server in the network
• For installation, the user must be logged in with local administration rights.

Installation

1. Double click on the following installation file:

setup_qLineSoft_x.x.x.exe
At first the user will be prompted to select a language.
This approach affects exclusively the language of
installation; it does not concern the final language
adjustment of the software.
For a new installation choose the 3 marked points in the
window „Select Components“ (see picture right). If
the installation of a LIS Connection is desired, the 2
red encircled points must also be choosen.

!Important! Installation of a LIS-Connection as well as the devices in use can be changed in the
configuration file (qSoft.ini) afterwards at any time point. The file is located under following path:
C:\Users\Person xxx\AppData\Roaming\R-Biopharm\qSoft
It makes sense to save a copy of the original file in the same register.

2. „Select Start Menu Folder“, no changes are necessary
here. The folder can be found under the following path:
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start
Menu\Programs\R-Biopharm RIDA qLine
The Teamviewer QuickSupport will also be installed
automatically.

3. „Database-Connection“, the memory location for the

database is defined at this step. Nearby installation, it is
important to consider the desired installation model. For
local installation, the given path can be used. In the case
of a network-installation, the responsible laboratory IT
technician has to define the storage space on the server.

4. „Directory for reports“, no changes are necessary.

5. „Activate RIDA qLine® autoBlot “, here the existing device can
be registered. Under ,,Description” and ,,Serial-No.:” the
complete serial number/description should be listed. As a
short description, the last 5 digits of the serial number can be
used (data can be changed in the configuration file
afterwards at any time point).

The connection data towards RIDA qLine® autoBlot are

requested in the following window. The TCP/IP-address can
be found in the device software. To look it up, the device
must be connected to the network and has to be switched on.
In the „Engineering Mode“, the respective IP-address is
shown (see description below). The Port concerns the RIDA
qLine® autoBlot and is defined with 8000.

Engineering mode

The engineering mode must be activated by long pressing the

company logo on the starting screen. Via pressing the button
„Back“(upper right corner), the user is directed to the
„Worklists“ window and „Engineering“ can be chosen.

The IP-address can be found under „General Settings“. This

menu can be opened without entering a password.

Pressing the button „Networking“ on the left side, the button
„IP Adress Information“ (left side) is available and can be
opened by „SELECT“.

Two IP-addresses are shown in the

following window, which are related to the
LAN-Ports of the device. The allocation
(shown in the picture) is inverted.

Activation of LIS communication

If the connection of the RIDA qLine® autoBlot system with the laboratory LIS is desired, following points
should be clarified prior activation:

• Prior installation, the interface description should be sent to the contact person and the IT-division in
order to send the information to the LIS provider. The LIS-provider must program a suitable
interface.
• The laboratory should establish a list of short abbreviations for assays and allergens. This list
should be present at installation date. If still not implemented in LIS, the abbreviations should be
implemented in the LIS.

1. In the configuration file under the point [LIS], the connection

must be activated („Active=1“). „LogActive“ should also be
active (=1). „LogDetailLevel“ must be set to =0 , than
minimum needed information are logged. It is possible to
adapt the level, but this slows down software processes. At
the point „RLinkLisAstmHost“, the IP address of the PC
(where the RLink autoBlot software is located) is requested.
If the PC is connected to the network, it is possible to request
this IP under [Win-R]cmdipconfigIPv4-Adresse
(Ethernet-Adapter Ethernet 2:). Data for „TcpIpHost“ and
„TcpIpPort“ must be provided from laboratory IT. This
concerns the address data of the LIS Host (mostly
physical/virtual server).

2. In RIDA qLine® Soft software click on the little arrow on the
button „Settings“ and choose „System settings“. To open the
menu, the user is asked for the password.

3. The correct device must be registered (RIDA qLine® autoBlot)

under the tab „Measurement/Devices. Next to changes confirm
the input with „Accept settings“.

4. Panels used must be activated under the tab „Strip“. All

available panels are listed in this window.

5. Panels chosen appear under the tab „LIS“ and „Strip“.

Appropriate abbreviations for the assay must be provided at this
place (name mapping).

6. Abbreviations for allergens are listed under the tab

„Allergens“.

applied to the configuration file of the RIDA qLine® Soft:

• Open configuration file (C:\Users\Person xxx\AppData\Roaming\R-Biopharm\qSoft)

 Application and firmware version must be prompted under the point [AutoBlot]. Also the number
of devices connected and the respective serial number should be controlled.
