ACCOPLISHMENT REPORT ON SCHOOL LEARNING ACTION CELL (SLAC)

on 21st Century Learning Using ICT Integration

Day 3

Information and Communication Technology has been a part of the teaching

learning process especially now that we are in the 21th century. In line with these teachers
challenge themselves to learn more about new teaching strategies like using MS Word in
making reports, MS excel in computing grades and MS PowerPoint in making presentation
of lessons. These are just some of the many ways ICT is being used in education. With the
fast pace of modern technology, teachers must be equipped and oriented with the
knowledge and skills to cope up with the need of the schools and students. October 23,
2019 the third LAC session Schedule for teachers, Sir Carlos G. Fernandez a Grade VI-
Teacher, Mam Rosiell D. Dumalaon also a Grade VI teacher together with Mam Arlene D.
San Antonio agreed to train teachers who are in need and need more improvement about
ICT skills. The training was held at Sta Ursula Elementary School. The participants had a
chance to apply the inputs given to them by the discussants.
The session started at exactly 8:00 o’clock in the morning. It was graced
by a doxology through a powerpoint presentation and followed by the singing of the
National Anthem and officially opened the program by the assigned emcee that day. The
first discussant was Ms. Arlene D. San Antonio who talked all about making powerpoint
presentations. She started her topic with the Introduction to MS Powerpoint. She taught
the participants on how to execute the commands of MS powerpoint application, familiarize
the MS powerpoint interface, manage files through opening, saving and printing document,
format text and paragraphs using the font, font size, font style alignment, highlight color
and line spacing. She also taught us how insert tables, pictures, page borders and some
shortcut keys to make things a lot faster and easier. The second discussant was Mrs.
Rosiell D. Dumalaon, she shares to us her expertise on how to use the MS Excel. The
teachers have created a wide variety of highly customized charts and use the row and
columns lay-out to store list efficiently. She taught us the basic formulas in computing
necessary in making test results and analysis and in the end have created a sample of class
record which was very useable for teacher.
The last discussant was Mr. Carlos G. Fernandez. He taught us on how
important ICT Integration on the different learning areas. 21 st century learning can be
achieved if you embraced the new trends in teaching and learning situation. Finally, we
heard some impression from the participants about the speakers’ performance. Afterwards
was the open forum wherein teachers share their personal experiences on the use of ICT
inside the classroom. The success of the training will help the teachers to responds to the
demands of the 21th century learners.
