(c) It is known that 1.5 flaws were detected for every millimeter of a copper wire. Calculate

Question 4

(a) An experiment was conducted to compare the maximum load capacity in tons for a steel
product produced by two different alloys A and B. Both alloys are having the same
variance of load capacity at 6 tons. A sample of 35 steel products from alloy A yield the
mean of 46.4 and 30 samples from alloy B yield the mean of 44.5 tons.

(i) Construct a 90% confidence interval for the difference mean load capacity of
alloys.

(b) A random sample of 12 diameter measurements of cylindrical metal pieces were recorded
