The internet of things and the future of mechatronics, opinion.

In the last twenty years technological advances have increased exponentially and
it is no longer a luxury to acquire smart devices as it was before. The Internet is
one of these advances, the ease that users now have to do different activities in
it is incredibly huge, from making inquiries to research till to keep in touch with
their loved ones.
The internet of things proposes to obtain information from the cloud and, from
this, feedback its databases with the results thrown by the devices connected to
it, and thus enter a loop improving more and more with the results obtained. This
opens a very wide path to mechatronics because, in general, this topic is based
on feedback systems to improve some results and the more information on the
system better is going to be the response obtained. For example we have a
system that detects diseases in the human body and additionally generates a
plan for the prevention of future diseases, the developers of this device will
program a series of fixed tasks in response to X and Y diagnosis thrown by its
sensors, the system will always be fed back by the data obtained by the sensor
and thus be able to deliver a more precise solution, but if the device is constantly
exchanging information from a cloud specialized in medical procedures it could
give a more precise answer to the needs of the patient, moreover, the cloud could
store the patient's data and feed them back and at the moment that detects any
anomaly that is not treatable by conventional methods, generate an alert to a
physician in charge to make a respective diagnosis and in the most extreme case
program some surgery to treat said specific disease.
In terms of security, it is more complex since, due to the nature of the cloud, most
of the stored data is public, this can generate some security leakage and
therefore generate vulnerability to the personal information of the users. A
feasible solution would be for the company to implement a fortigate to reinforce
the security offered by conventional antivirus, in addition they could obtain better
security by changing some public to private DNS and also changing the
configuration of the IPv4 protocol.
In conclusion I do not think that the internet of things is the end of the
mechatronics, if this tool is put to good use, it can help to further advance this
career, of course, having a good security protocol so that the data Someone to
be public cannot acquire infections so easily and relieving the virus databases
will be of great help for this tool.
