Theme: The Importance Of Learning English In My Course

Introduction

English is important because English is the international language.

Most of people in many countries speak English for communicating with each other who are
foreigners.

I am talking about this topic because I want to write about the importance of leaning English, and
how important is this language for my course, for example here in Mozambique we can find
many English companies. We are learning English into our course, because on the working field
can have people who come from another country, or we can go out for work and fin that
everyone they speak English.

Some material can be written in English, so we are learning it, because we need to understand it,
to make a little difference when we are working and learning English in our course can help us to
have some basic knowledge about it, and the names of some working material.

 The importance of learning English in my course

Why I am learning English?

I will not go so longer about telling the importance of leaning English in my course. I will tell
you my own history and process of learning English.

First, when I was 14, in grade 6. I remember my English teacher give us a question, but I don’t
remember the question was talking about what, he ask the classroom with sentence is correct a or
b, nobody answer it, I stand up and I say teacher: I think the correct sentence is b. he come to me
and beat me, all my classmate start to laughing me, and I start crying. So, from that day maybe I
can say I change a lot, start to study by myself very hard and hard.

From that day I didn’t care any more about other subject, because I say to myself: “I must speak
English and understand it”, don’t matter what happen but I must speak it. Every day when I
finish school, I used to take all my English material and go to my room, sometimes I dint used to
eat anything, because my own goals was to speak English.

Now I though, I just can understand that, my English teacher make me change very much, in that
time I start to understand some things in class, having good marks. Of course, my entire
classmate started to follow me, some of them asking me for help and more.

In that time my English teacher became my friends, in my free time I used to go to his home to
play, sometimes having some dialogue in English, I can say now that “it is was so good”. When
we are leaning every language, we need to practice it every time, I can say that every language
we can compare it as eating every time, the human beings need to eat to became strong and
health, all the things just happened with any language, you need to practice it every time, the
result of you practice is to speak fluently. I can’t say that I am very good at English now, but in
my primary time, I can say without any duty that “I was better that now”.

Now I understand that English is very important because it is the worldwide language, no matter
where you are, where you go, you can find people learning it there. Now I forget a lot of thing in
English, but I can say a basic. But no matter how, I am happy to know some English. Today, in
many cities, every young people have a few knowledge about it, they can speak to each other in
English. So here go my little advice, no matter what we do, if you want to learn something, no
matter if is language or other subject, please don’t give up.

Continuing to talk about the importance of learning English, I will mention some of the
importance of leaning English in my course. We know that every people are different from
another people, the way we see and understand some things is different. In that case, I would like
to express my own idea by writing some important point about this topic. Here I am going to tell
you the importance of learning English at my course:

English in my course

I think that every course must have English as an important subject, because we know that
English is an international language. In Mozambique if the entire course begins to teach English
from first level, I believe that today most of the Mozambican people could be able to speak
English very well, but it is different what is happening. Today, if you go at university and ask the
student that: what is the difficult subject do you think? Most of the students will tell you that
English is the difficulty one, but why they say that? Do you think they don’t like it? Do you think
that they can’t speak it?

I will tell you, it is not difficult the most problem that we have in our country is: all the student
start to learn English a grade 6.

It is very important to learn English in my course because at work we can have some material
that is written in English, so we are learning very early because our brain is so fresh to put
information; we will be very familiar to some words. I didn’t say here that if you start to learn
later you can’t be able to speak, but I think if we start to learn when we are young it can be very
easy. English is important in other countries, because they start to teach they are children
English very early, they believe that if they children can speak it, so that mean they are not alone
in this world.

It is important to learn English, because it is a very good subject. if you lean it, final you will see
that leaning English is so cool at my course, of course all the subject are important but people are
different some understand very easily and for some it is difficult to understand it, for English is
the same, some people like it, others don’t. So as a language I think it is important to learn it, it is
important to like it, it is important to enjoy it, it is important to know a few about someone
language, don’t matter how different we are or how difficult it is. I hope one day, our university
and all the course can early start to teach that amazing and important language that is called
“English”.

For opportunity

English is important for my course because today English became one of the most spoken
languages in the world. Today, if you don’t have some English ability it is difficult to find a job,
most of the company need people who can speak it.

It is important for opportunity, if you learn English maybe will be easy to find a job, I can
translate some job of my company. It is important because i can have the opportunity to work in
another country.

For example here in Mozambique, most of the company are not government organization (ONG),
so that kind of company are from different country, they come to Mozambique to make business,
if you speak English that mean you are important to them. If you want to apply for a job, you
need to have a little knowledge.

For communication

Finally the last importance of learning English, I think that the last one is the most interesting
when I am talking about the importance of learning English in my course. It is important to learn
English, because when you go to work into a country who speaks English, that could not be a
problem for us, we can just life there without a problem. I think that communication is very
important to each other, if you don’t understand someone language you can feel so nervous and
you can think that they are talking something bad about you.

It is important to learn English, I don’t say that you need to be good t English, we are learning it
at our course because we must have some English knowledge, some important words, we just
need to have daily life knowledge about it.

It is important to learn English because when am working to people who speak English the
communication will be easy, i don’t need to be afraid of speaking with anyone there, you will
feel like you are at you home.

It is important to learn English, because if you go to another country for work, it will be easy to
find a place that you want or you are looking for, you will not be lost there, you can easily make
friends, you can easily understand some working material.

Why I choose UCM?

In the First place I would like to say that dreams was to make Eduardo Mondlane university
(UEM), in that time I was in grade 10 and I didn’t decide yet what kind of course I would like to
take, most of the my friends want to apply for that university, all my family used to talk so well
about it. Sometimes, I used to ask myself, all the people talk so well about that university, but is
really that university so good?

When I was in grade 11, I begin to search about that university, after all my search I found that
the university is really big, and is one of the best universities in Africa. But in that time, I decide
that I want to make Mineralogy course, so where I can find that course and which university
have it?

One day I was watching TV, and I saw a publicity about an university that was situated in Tete
province, and the university was called UCM, they put they contact number on the top of the
publicity, when i hear about it, I take my cell phone and I call them. When I was talking to them
I ask if the university have mineralogy course. They say: yes, we have it! After hear that I was so
happy, I was happy because finally I found my university and my course.

I choose UCM, because saw information about the university, but in that time, when I tell my
family, they didn’t accept my request, and my friends used to say bad things to me, but I tell all
of them that I don’t care what people say about that university, if is a catholic university or what,
the most important things is the knowledge that I will take during my course, academic begs and
how to use my knowledge in my daily life and working process.

The second reason that make-me chose is very simple, I chose because UCM is the only
university that have and teach my course.

The third reason is because the university is very organized, is very beautifully, the teaching
method is amazing, the most important part is the way the student wear (they don’t accept short
dress and trousers that shows the part of body), the regulation is very nice I like it.

CONCLUSION

After my conclusion, I found that every people are different from another, the way we see and
understand something in our daily life is different. Every people have is own chose, and they
chose what they think is good for their life, that is why I think the most important thing is to do
what we think is correct for us. Someone say that: Do what your heart think is correct, no matter
if is correct or wrong, people will always critical you.

People need to choose what they want, what they like, I think that is the most important part in
this life, I chose what is correct for you, chose what make you feel happy. I choose UCM
because I fell happy; I am doing what I want and what i like, i am ready to receive any critical
bout my job.
