What Does Successful Technology Integration Look
Like?
True technology and successful technology
integration are how you know that a student
understands technology and how to use it. Edutopia
(2007) states that technology integration is considered
successful and true when students are actively engaged
with technology participating in project-based activities,
game-based learning games, web-based research and
activities, collaborative environments like google suite,
creating media projects, and using social media.
Best Practices for Parent Outreach to the
Community
• Maximize communication and outreach
methods that are already in place
• Use mobile applications
• Use crowdsourcing
• Provide students who don't have devices at
home take home devices
• Provide reduced internet/wifi to students who
receive reduced and free lunch or provide
hotspots to

and teacher resources provided to parents for
them to be involved in their child's learning
• Create blogs and email parents to provide them
with updates, questions, or concerns

Considerations
• Estimate the total cost for buying and
maintaining equipment
• Estimate the cost for professional
developments, technical support, hardware
issues, purchasing software, connectivity, and
retrofitting (Ireh, 2010)
• Ensure that the budget includes all possible
scenarios that could arise
• Check to see if your school needs retrofitting as
more money would need to be set aside for
that project
