priority-based pegging logic. Valid values are:
• Yes - The planning engine does not give preference to non-

transient safety stock levels in priority-based pegging. It pegs
the demands and the safety stock levels, at the same time,
to the supplies.
• No - The planning engine gives preference to non-transient
safety stock levels in priority-based pegging. It first pegs
them to non-firm planned orders. Then, it pegs the demands
to the other supplies.

Description This profile determines how safety stock targets for different revisions in a
supersession chain are considered in SPP.
Valid Values.
• Item - SPP will consider the safety stock level for each item
(for which safety stock is prescribed)
• Prime (Default) - the safety stock for the entire prime will be
considered as the safety stock level and the existing supply
for the various members of the prime will be considered
while trying to maintain the safety stock level.
Example:
Consider this supersession session chain: A3 -] A4 [-] A5 [-] A6 -] A7 [-] A8
Assume safety stock for each item = 100 units for a give period.
If the profile option = 'Item', then consider the safety stock level for each item
to be 100 units and use only native supply to maintain this level. There will be
no substitution recommended by planning and safety stock violation
exceptions will be raised for each item.
If the profile = 'Prime', then planning determines that A3, A6 and A8 are the
primes in this supersession chain then planning will use the following levels:
SS target for A3=100 units, and planning will only use supply of A3 to
maintain this level. SS target for A6=300 units, and planning will use supplies
of A4, A5 and A6 to maintain this level. SS target for A8=200 units, and
planning will use supplies of A7 and A8 to maintain this level.

Description Use this profile option to instruct the planning engine how to plan material to
be completed early as a safety buffer. Valid values are:
• Yes - Use safety lead-time planning. The value in item

attribute Safety Stock Percent is the safety lead-time in days;
for example, if safety lead-time is two days, enter 200.
• No - Use non-transient / transient safety stock planning. The
value in item attribute Safety Stock Percent is a percent of
demand.

Profile Option Name MSR_SS_HOLDING_STRATEGY
Description Specifies where safety stock should be held when the carrying cost is the
same for an item in the destination organization and a source organization.
Valid values are:
• 0 - causes the safety stock to be held at the destination

organization.
• 1 - causes the safety stock to be held at the source

organization.
Default Value - Source Organization
