• Students are required to design and make a satisfactory rocket in
such a way that it gives minimum friction force in a very creative
style

Malaysia CanSat Competition

Requirements
-Mission

• CanSat shall used standard bus provided by ANGKASA


• CanSat shall have sensor payload for temperature, humidity,
pressure and positioning
• Sensor Telemetry data shall be transmitted at the interval of not
more than 10 seconds
• CanSat shall transmit data upon command by ground station
• CanSat shall be recoverable upon landing
– Visual tracking
– Last position reported
Requirements
-Programmatic

• Each team shall comprise of not more than 6 students


• Each member including team leader shall have clearly defined scopes and
tasks
• Team members responsible for radio communication shall be required to
attend training and acquire the necessary certification.
• Each member shall participate during launch, operation and recovery of
CanSat
• Each team shall meet specified timeline for each important milestones
• CanSat ancillary hardware shall not exceed specified fund allocated (amount
TBD)
• PDR/CDR materials shall be prepared and each team to present to the
review panels appointed by ANGKASA for adequacy evaluation.
• Final report shall be prepared and presented to the panels for final
evaluation
Requirements
-Technical

• CanSat shall be built to fit in a standard aluminum soda can


• No parts of the CanSat shall extend beyond the surface of the soda can
until deployed
• The CanSat shall weigh less than specified mass (TBD)
• The CanSat shall operate using 9V rectangular battery
• The length of the CanSat shall not exceed twice the length of a soda can
including antennas before deployment
• AX.25 protocol shall be used for data transmission
• CanSat shall use either licensed amateur or ISM band frequencies for radio
link
• Parachute shall be designed, built and attached to either one end of the
CanSat as it attitude control
