IMPORTANCE OF LESSON PLANNING

A lesson plan is a comprehensive training course outline by a teacher for a lesson. A teacher
develops a daily course plan to guide the learning of classes. Based on the teacher's choice, subject
matter and student needs, specifics may differ. The school system may require requirements for the
plan. A lesson plan is a guideline for the instructor to follow which involves what the students will know,
how the aim is accomplished and how far the objective has been done.

During the course of my practice teaching I have realized that each teacher must prepare a
lesson plan because it is regarded as the day's learning guide. Having my own lesson preparation is
critical because I am clearly driven by what the students need. Research has shown that learning by
students correlates with planning by teachers. I have come to realize that the key reason is that teachers
should focus on executing the curriculum until it is ready. If teachers don't always have to worry about
what to do next, they may concentrate on certain aspects of the class. In my experience, the theme
must be well coordinated by way of lesson planning. It keeps me from thinking teaching defects. It has
provided me the correct environment in which to understand. With lesson plan prepared, I also have a
clear idea of when to begin the assessment and when to take the following lesson. Although, lesson
plans will lead to structured schooling and save time, I should use the correct technique in the course
plans. With this, I or any teacher is confident and more prepared during the course.

There are several components of a successful lesson plan that I have encountered during the
internship and these are learning goals, consistency considerations, delivery, and activities. It is
necessary that I take into consideration the learning goals as they will help to establish and conduct all
classroom activities. Issues are questions which I intend to contact the students throughout the course.
Such questions are often theoretical, but more relevant. They are also built to help the student thought
at a higher level than memorizing and learning. To decide if the class has accomplished the goals I have
aimed for, while it is necessary to develop an evaluation program, too.

Lesson planning is important as it ensures that teachers like me make sure they make
appropriate long-term progress in daily activities in our classrooms towards objectives as well as in our
individual training schemes were necessary. Lesson planning is just as important as we teachers are.
