I. INTRODUCTION

The assessment of performance of signalised intersections often require the


determination of capacity of approach lane or lane group and the intersection clearing
speed of queued vehicle during queue discharge. The evaluation of capacity at signalized
intersection is an important component in the planning, design, operation and
management of transportation system

II. OBJECTIVES

This study aims to:

A. STUDY AREA

Describe location. No. of lanes. Road width. Status of roads.

Include map and photos of the area featuring key establishments within 1 kilometer.

B. DATA COLLECTION

2. SPOT SPEED

Discuss how volume, speed, and time and space mean speed were obtained.

Include formulas.

IV. RESULTS & DISCUSSION

Data analysis of various traffic characteristics such as traffic volume, traffic


composition, peak hour traffic volume, peak hour factor and traffic composition etc. was
done for each turning movement, each approach and intersection as a whole for all the
candidate intersection

Present tables summarizing speed data per period. Show speed data per direction on separate
tables.

For all computations, present them in the appendices. Just refer to them in your discussion. Use
the templates provided.

A. DISCUSSION

Discuss some of your observation with regards to the congestion of traffic in the area.

Also discuss whether you think speed limits should be imposed. Is there a need for traffic signs
or traffic signals? You may include photo documentation to aid your analysis.
