The outbreak of the pandemic COVID-19 has nowadays become a chronic disease all
over the world. Its spread has also crossed the boundaries of many nations including
ours. Following this incident, as it is recalled, the Federal Democratic Republic
Government of Ethiopia (FORE) has announced publicity on March 16, 2020 G.c. that
students of both the General and Higher Education Institutions need to keep themselves
away from their Schools/Universities and spend their time at home for the last 15
(fifteen) consecutive days. Unfortunately, the spread of the virus has become so intense
all over the world that a more serious precautions is required by each and every one.
This situation/fact induces the government to announce again for the second round the
extension of closure of Schools and Universities for additional 15 davs.

As we all remember, and as per the instruction given to us from the Ministry of Science
and Higher Education (MoSHE) as well as Higher Education Relevance and Quality
Assurance Agency (HERQA)f the University has made its utmost effort (via our
instructors) to disseminate e-Iearning materials (such as reference books, teaching
materials, assignments, worksheets, project works, etc.) to its students. We expect that
these materials have helped them a lot while they stay at home.

The University would like to appreciate the participation of the University Community in
providing the e-Iearning materials to our esteemed customers (students) through
different electronic mediums.

Once again the University, would like to encourage and advice the students to keep on
using these materials, share with colleagues, do assignments and project works without
physically availing themselves. Also, those students who are currently writing their senior
Project/Masters Thesis are advised to pursue dealing with their paper work by
communicating with their advisors/mentors via online alternative applications (such as
Telegram, Telephone, E-mail, etc.). Likewise, instructors and advisors are encouraged to
do the best they can to help their students in this stressful nationwide problem by
sharing their resources (teaching materials), coach them patiently as well as give them
any relevant assistance until the normal face to face class commences ..
