Top 100 Emerging Companies in India report contains in spite of the global economic turmoil, the Indian
equity market performed remarkably well in 2009, and the growth story is expected to continue through
2010. There has been considerable improvement in domestic saving rates, which is now around 35% of
GDP. There has also been a continued increase in the exports of goods and services, from about 5% of GDP
in the 1970s to around 23% of GDP last year. With increasing industrialization, India’s real GDP is
expected to grow at a rate of around 8% to 9% per annum.

Some of the sectors that are expected to continue performing well are Infrastructure, Oil & Gas, Power,
Telecom and Pharmaceuticals.
