About Us
• Peer Connect is a student run Peer Mentorship Company where we provide
mentorship services to budding JEE-Aspirants. We connect IITians and BITSians who
have done well themselves to guide students into their engineering preparations.

• The idea was born out of our peer-mentorship program in college. After research we
found out that peer support is present formally in almost all top-tier colleges in India
and abroad. The only people who do not have seniors to guide them are 11th and 12th
students.

• We are advocates of good mentoring. We do not dream of replacing faculty or senior

mentorship which has its own place but instead compliment the current schemes in
place.

• We are a current team of 10 engineers and 3 founders working full time on this
company.

Power of Peer Mentoring
Some of the best mentors of students in our universities are other students.

But how can this be? After all, in Schools and Universities aren’t mentors supposed to be
older adult professionals, such as faculty and counsellors?

How can a student serve as an effective mentor for another student?

Consider this : The journey of IIT-JEE can be exciting but really really lonely and
intimidating. Students are scared and it makes it really difficult to survive without any kind
of psychological and emotional support.

Even simple problems can snowball into big problems and make life difficult for anyone.
It is seen at university level that often new students when confronted with an academic
or personal problem will seek out advice first from a Peer Mentor first and only with
encouragement will that student contact others in his university, such as counselors,
faculty, or administrators.

We are implementing this at school level.

Peer Connect just provides an IITian or a Bitsian Brother or sister who will help them
navigate this difficult path of IIT-JEE by providing emotional, mental and any kind of non
academic support. We will help them manage their study schedule, help them manage
stress, personal problems and anything that bothers them.

Mentors
I have always been a high performer in school but the world
of JEE has a completely different pattern to it.

I struggled to motivate myself, struggled with time

management and time allocation.

I feel all of it could have been solved if I had a friend who

was guiding me.I want to be that friend to my mentee in
school struggling with IIT-JEE.

Rohan Mahnot( IIT Kanpur AIR:-662)

I believe more than time management, students need

emotion management and build a temperament for
sitting in an exam.

Many people may deviate from their plan they made at the
beginning of their journey and I along with other members
of peer connect can help them stick to their plan.

Levin Arora ( IIT Delhi AIR:-1216)

I'd struggled a lot during JEE preparation but I could

always find people to guide and motivate me. However
I realized their importance when I joined college.

It was difficult for me to manage my academic and non-

academic life at campus. It was then that I realized the
importance of guidance and mentorship and am
delighted to work with Peer Connect, to bring as much
change as I can.

Anjum Kataria ( BITS Pilani AIR:-3234)

Our chief want in life is somebody
who will make us do what we can
I have seen a lot of students whose grades dip as the
time passes and they have no one to help them
manage this.

Having a guide and a friend during their up's and down's

makesiteasierforthemhandleand improve.

I think I can provide them with just this to improve their

overall score.

Hrdaya Grover ( NSIT AIR:-3413)

During my JEE-Prep days I had to face a lot of problems .I found out

that along with covering the syllabus on time we also need to
developthecorrectexam temperamentand mindset.

It helps acetheexamination with our fullpotential.

So the mentorship during prep is quite important for lifting up

your score on the final day and also to develop a calm and
composed mindset.

Jatin Singh (IIT Roorkee)

Hi I am Soham! I wanted to join peer connect and join their

mentorship program as a mentor because it resonated with
the problems I faced myself.

I used to constantly struggle with managing my time and with

coping with my bad results.
I wanted someone in my life who could guide me as a friend
and not as a teacher.
I didn't have it but I am pretty sure I could be that elder
brother to the soham who is currently studying for IIT today.

I will maintain a happy and a positive attitude that will flow to

my mentees also.
