project are perfect for providing a platform for students to use their
own critical and creative thinking skills to come up with a variety of
effective and individualistic designs.

What grade is it for? How I have placed this design challenge within the Year 5 Science

discovered the Year 5 content descriptors was the best fit.

How would you use it in Within the classroom STEM event, the Irrigation system design
the classroom? challenge will be one of two STEM challenges. The activity will run for
30 minutes and include an introduction/explanation of activity, 15
minutes of creating time and time at the end for groups to explain
their design and how they made it work. Also, an expert from
Bundaberg Fruit and Vegetable growers is coming in to help students
with their design and talk to them about the irrigation systems they
use at work.
