C.REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE

FOREIGN;
According to Liana Evans (2017) "with the hype of socialmedia,
companies think it easy to succeed online, thinking that allthey
need is a facebook page to hit their audience but that is
notenough. People will continue to share conversations
andexperiences without a companys involvement. The appeare
forsocial media is cross generations, some of the fast
growingpemographics are those of above 210 years old.

According to a literature by Jill Elaine Hughes

(2018),"Developing good study habits so crucial for any student
pursuinghigher education, but is it of particular importance to
workinglearners. School must provide its student with a robust
supportnetwork that enables working learners to make most of
theirexistin skills and also boost their ability to be self-
disciplined, self-direct, and ultimately succesful in their degree
programs."Moreover, Art markman, Ph.p(2012) in ulterior notives
state that"one of the most important tips is that students should
study bytesting themselves rather than just reading over the
material. It isalso important to study over a period of days rather
than waitinguntil the last minute to study. Moreover, the students
who make aschedule and stick with it tend to get better grades,
while thestudents who study late at night tends to get worse
grades thanthose who study in the evening."

According to Sonia Livingstone (2016) stated that collegestudents

use social networking sites, which are part of theirpersonal
relationships to interact with their family members, which
radically alters their interpersonal relationships. In general, college
students are playing experimenting and their identitieswithin
social networking sites while interacting with others.

According to Donna Reid and Fraser Reid (2018) examinedhow

technology can positively impact interpersonalcommunitcation.
They focused on social networking sites used bycollege students.
The study states that compared means ofcommunication, user
social networking sites were found to bemore likely to discuss
their "real -self" through social networkingsites. It appears that
there is something special about socialneworkig sites that allow
people to develop their interpersonalrelationship with others. This
is a clear example of howtechnology can help interpersonal
communication. On the otherhand, some advancement is
decreasing the personal nature ofcommunication especially with
virtual contact at times replacingface to face contact. While
opinions may differ on whether it isgood or bad, at the very least,
at the very least it is confirmed
that it changes the landscape of interpersonal communications.

According to Keenan and Shirie (2017) conductedanexplaratory

study of four social networking sites and theirfeatures that
encourage sociability and social interaction.Thestudy (2009)finds
that facebook and my space, as the largestsocial websites, receive
the most coverage. These websites offeran extensive amount of
social features and require a thoughanalysis. Linkedln and twitter
represent a niche application ofsocial websites, focusing on
professional networks andmicroblogging respectively

According to Peluchefte and Karl (2016) explore the surveyof

midwestern university undergraduate students regarding use
ofsocial networking sites and their perceptions regarding
theappropriateness of information they post, as well as how
suchinformation is accessed and used by other partices. The
study(2016) found that 80% respondents have used at least one
site inwhich majority of respondents use facebook. They describe
thatrespondents were generally in strong agreement that they
wereconfortable with their friends, classmates and family
havingfriends who do not have social networking site account
said thatthey would be closer to friends if they were on the site
and 80%of respondents said they had never experienced
negativeconsequence in their offline relationships due to the
contents intheir social networking site profile suggesting that
mostrespondents benefit from using the site with the use of
privatemessaging and chat room of this site, students can
communicateand maintain a healthy relationship with their
friends from forplaces with ease that takes only a few seconds.

According to Vitak (2018) there are various as to whyindividual

use a social networking site. The first reason is forthem to meet
strangers and become friends. The mojority ofrespondents her
research paper (57%) said that they were initiallyintroduced to
those "friends" through mutual friends, whichincreased the
likelihood of such relationships developing intostrong ties. While
a segnificant portion of respondents stated thatthey have at least a
few online friends 85% said that they do notcommunicate with
most of their online. Friends, and the majorityof respondents said
that they considered those friendship as strongties. Through social
networking sites user tends to maintain theirinterpersonal
relationship with their online friends becuase ofeasy
communication. Therefore they can use private messaging, chat
rooms, and other methods of communication provided by
thewebsite.

the performance of student? In addition theresearchtries to justify
the relationship the i.e social media usage, personality traits and
academics perfomance. Their analysis of239 students data reveals
very significant result. This researchestablihes that using social
media has strong negative impact onacademic performance of
students with their personalities. However, factors of self
regulation among students greatlyreducues this negative imoacts
as they have high level of effectiveself control while using social
media platforms. Cognitiveabsorption which defines extent of
deep involvement is anotherpersonality factor taken into
consideration while undertaking thisresearch.

According to Junco R.( 2018) investigate the impact ofsocial

media being a social medium on students performance
onacademic courses. To find trends on frequency of facebok
visitand activities time spent on using social media, tiem spent
onclass preparation and academic grades of the students
underresearches. Analysis of the collected data reveals that time
spenton using social media and frequency of visiting social media
arenegatively related to students performance interms of their
GPA.However these is slightly negative correlation between time
spenton this widely use social medium and the time spent on this
instudying for class. He further adds that although time spent
onsocial media and academic performance are negatively
correlatedbut, this relationship in real word scenarios does not
seen to be amajor handle in acdemic success.

university students with special focus on tje gender
basedcomparison and impact of the selected social medium on

srudents study habit are its intelligence and theycannot help their
parents do the household chores because ofbeing focused to the
technology especiallynthe internet, computerand mobiles.
According to Ellaiza Gelyn Borres (2017) stated that theeffects of
technology to students study habitsmare they usuallycopy and
paste an article to the internet without reading what theycopy
from the article.Rather than scnaning books to have ananswer and
from than you can learn many things about what youread.

According to Yang and Tang (2016) conducted a researchstudy

on forty (40) graduate students studying a course inAdvance
Management Information Systems. The impact of usingsocial
media for educational porpose on the acdemic performanceof the
students. Students were grouped into 14 teams to discuss.Various
questions based on MIS cases in an online forumspecifically set
up for the purpose. The student had to come upwith summaries of
the discussions made on the forum.

According to Negussie and Ketema (2017) furtherinvestigate if

there is any impact of using facebook whileaccessing through
different devices. Among a variety of devices, itwas found that the
correlation between using facebook on mobiledevices and
students grade is highly negative as compared tousing facebook
on the other devices. This adverse effect isexplained bu the fact
that using cellphones for social networkingactivities may involve
multitasking and all students are notequally efficient in
multitasking skills.

to explore how social media technologies are beingused as an
educational tool. The aim of this paper is to analyze therole of
social media in particular facebook as an educational toolin higher
education.

moments states that social media are changing theways in which
activists communicte, collaborate and demonstrate.Scholar from a
wide range of disciplines, among them sociology, political science
and communiction are working to understandthese changes. The
diversity of perspectives represented enrichesthe literature,
providing an abundant repertoire of tools forexamining these
phenomena, but it is also an obstacle tounderstanding.

According Bo Carlsson and Valerie Colin (2017) in theirstudy

"the changing physical and social environment in socialmedia"

enabled by social media significantly changes thelandscape for
brand management. This paper review existingresearch and
