our topic. .
SAY: “Server Computer is: Students are taking down notes of the topic
“A server is a computer designed to process requests
and deliver data to other (client) computers over a local
network or the internet. Although any computer running
special software can function as a server, the most
typical use of the word references the very large, high-
powered machines that function as the pumps pushing
and pulling data across the internet.”

Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol
Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) is
a protocol for assigning dynamic IP addresses to devices
on a network. With dynamic addressing, a device can have
a different IP address every time it connects to the network.
In some systems, the device's IP address can even change
while it is still connected. DHCP also supports a mix of
static and dynamic IP addresses.
Domain Name Server Students are taking down notes of the topic
The domain name system (DNS) is the way that
internet domain names are located and translated into
internet protocol (IP) addresses. The domain name system
maps the name people use to locate a website to the IP
address that a computer uses to locate a website. For
5/24/17
example, if someone types TechTarget.com into a web
browser, a server behind the scenes will map that name to
the IP address 206.19.49.149.
Print Services
Students are taking down notes of the topic
Network printing is the collection of software
components in Windows Server 2003 that provide
network printing services for client computers. In
addition to providing services to clients running
versions of the Windows operating system,
Windows Server 2003 can provide network printing
services to client computers running other operating
systems when the appropriate components are
installed.
B. Demonstration Proper
C. Generalization:
Network operating systems (NOS) typically are used to
run computers that act as servers. They provide the
capabilities required for network operation. Network
operating systems are also designed for client
computers and provide functions so the distinction
between network operating systems and standalone
operating systems is not always obvious. Network
operating systems provide the following functions:
Installed Components
Client functionality
Server functionality

Functions provided:
Network services
File Sharing
Print sharing
User administration
Backing up data
.
III. Evaluation:
1. What is Network Operating system? Network Operating System is designed primarily to
2. What is Server? support workstation, personal computer, and, in some
3. What is Client? instances, older terminal that are connected on a local
area network (LAN).
Server is a computer designed to process requests
and deliver data to other (Client) computers over a
local network or the internet.
A client is an application that runs on a personal
computer or workstation and relies on a server to
perform some operations.
IV. Assignment:
Research on the different kinds of Network
Operating System their features and steps in
configuring them.
