STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDUJiES


FOR WEAPON I AMMUNITION
(TO BE TRANSLATED IN URDU)

1. we,1pon c1nd nmrnunition

and t.rkcn care of. This is primarily the duty of the weapon earner at a given time.

2. VVc::;l Pakistan Arms Ordinance 1965 and Arms Rules 1924 amply covers the
!)earing or possession of Arms in the course of duty. All instructions given on the license
book will be adhered in true letter and spirit. It should be ensured that the weapons and
ammunition presently held are in serviceable condition. Repair of the weapons and
purchase of ammunition be arranged immediately when needed.
3. Authorization of the Weapon I Ammunition to Security Staff. The
suggested distribution of the arms / ammunition to any other grid stations is as under.
However, as per approved authorization, X of the total strength of the Security Staff is to
be equipped with arms and ammunition. But this is too fess as should be 75% of the total
authorized strenqth :-

4. Procedure to be Adopted for Issue I Deposit of Weapons and Ammunition to


the Security Staff
a. During office hours, Security Sergeant on duty will sign register for
issue/deposit of Arms/Ammunition and counter signed by Security
Officer/Inspector.
b. After. office hours, Security Sergeant (Shift In-charge) will ensure proper
lw11d1ng tak111g of the weapon I ammunition to the incoming shift. He will
also satisfy himself that all weapons are correct as per state and there is no
breakaqe/ctscrepancies.
c. Duty Sergeant will endorse the necessary entries in the weapon in / out
register.
cl. Security Sergeant will make sure that no weapon is loaded at the time of
handing I taking.
e. Security Staff will use sling I chain to tie up the weapon for the safety I
security.
Wcc=ipon will IJe issued to the Security Staff as per the requirement.
however, the loft over weapon will be placed in a steel afmiral1 at security
office for safety.
4. Safety I Security of Arms and Ammunition
a. Each individual will be personally responsible for the safe custody of the
Arms/ Ammunition issued to him.
IJ. Once not in use arms/ ammunition will be kept in the steel almirah duly
locked and placed at Security Office.
